From their Cummins engines and Spicer or ZF transmission to their Axle Tech™ drive axle, these trucks deliver the dependability and durability that add up to top performance and productivity with low maintenance. Since every part of these trucks is selected for strength, dependability and long wear, they are on the job more—exactly where you want your trucks and operators to be. A rugged unitized frame structure is designed for tough, demanding applications. Side plates are 1/2” (20mm) thick. The mast is mounted to the frame, not the drive axle.
Superior manufacturing
A two-stage air filter assembly with an internal back up filter and large size bowl pre-cleaner is standard. Optional, heavy-duty pre-cleaners are available. All pre-cleaners are mounted low to enhance intake air cleanliness and maximize operator’s visibility. The single section fabricated counterweight is designed to maximize the cleanliness of the incoming cool air and eliminate the potential for re-circulating heated air. Heat is the #1 enemy of any engine, transmission or hydraulic system. Yale® GP-DC/EC trucks employ the “Quad-Cooler” radiator to protect them from heat, even in the harshest applications. The radiator system has four individual cooling sections, one each for intake air, engine coolant, hydraulic oil and transmission fluid. Each section is individually serviceable. The innovative Load Sensing Hydraulic System operates with high efficiency and low fuel consumption with the use of variable displacement pumps The optional ZF WG161 transmission is “overdesigned” for tough, heavy duty applications, and features large clutch packs, stiff, compact shafts, and extra cooling capability.
Redesigned counterweight & cooling air flow
Ultimate productivity Performance and productivity are built right into every Yale® truck. The GP-DC/EC Series is no exception, featuring The Power to Perform! Productivity cost savings are achieved through lower truck operating expenses, reduced labor and down-time costs, reduced operator overtime expense and increased throughput.

Designed to handle the most demanding outdoor and indoor applications, GP-DC/EC trucks are particularly suited to the wood products, shipping, metal, concrete and manufacturing industries. The durable, low maintenance Cummins® QSB 6.7L Diesel engine is turbocharged, intercooled and Tier III compliant. This engine is world-renowned for durability, reliability, low life-cycle cost and ease of service.
The Spicer® (Off-Highway) TE-10 transmission is electronically controlled for improved reliability, reduced maintenance and exceptional performance. It’s a fully automatic three-speed transmission with smooth speedrange shifting, electronic inching and onboard diagnostics. The TE-10’s electronic control offers unprecedented flexibility and adaptability. The optional heavy duty ZF WG161 transmission offers increased tractive effort and higher travel speeds. The innovative Load Sensing Hydraulic System provides smooth, precise control of hydraulic functions and increased performance even at idle speeds.
Various truck configurations
The Axle Tech® (formerly Rockwell) drive axles are sized to the capacity of the machine. To protect components from contamination, the axles feature both planetary final drives and a breather/filter. Standard air brakes, or optional wet disc brakes for rugged-duty applications, provide exceptional performance with longlife components. The hydraulic system features electronic control, an extraheavy-duty hydraulic pump for peak demands, load sensing steering for driver control and a hydraulic cooler built into our unique “Quad Cooler” radiator. The large capacity Yale® GP-DC/EC trucks also offer many different attachments and front-end options to move oversized containers, metal products, prestressed concrete, lumber and heavy machinery. Several carriage styles are available as well as an optional triplex full free-lift mast for applications with height restrictions.

Intelligent ergonomics Operators prefer Yale ® trucks. Applying superior ergonomics, Yale ® GP-DC/EC trucks help you get the job done efficiently with reduced operator fatigue. With maximized visibility, smooth, precise mast positioning, low-effort steering and a rubber bushing-mounted cab, everything about these trucks makes them easy to operate.
Truck shown with optional enclosed cab, steering spinner knob and full air suspension cloth seat.
The low cowl and right-side mounted operator console with dash display, combined with an overall design built for maximum fieldof-view, provides exceptional all-around visibility. The tilting and telescoping steering column further enhances operator visibility and adjusts to the operator’s preferred driving position.
Blinking warning lights on the steering column alert the operator to abnormal truck operating conditions. As a result, the operator does not need to constantly monitor the dash. Additionally, active faults in monitored systems are displayed on the LCD panel. The side-mounted dash console includes light switches, temperature and airflow controls, wiper controls and more. All are conveniently positioned within easy reach of the operator. The optional Deluxe Full Suspension Seat provides the ultimate in operator comfort with air suspension, automatic weight adjustment, and lumbar adjustment.
Convenient positioning of operator controls
Three low profile steps and full-length handrails enable safe and easy cab entry and exit. The optional enclosed “ERGO Cab” is the premier cab in the industry, with large front and rear impact resistant, tempered glass panels for maximum visibility. Front, top and rear intermittent windshield washer/wipers are standard. The cab also features large steel frame glass doors for easy entry/exit and maximum visibility. The doors can be conveniently opened or closed from the ground. The “ERGO Cab” features interior lights, an optional seat side halogen flex light, interior circulation fan and side-view mirrors. A removable headliner cover permits the convenient addition of communication devices.
Low-profile steps & full-length handrails
The ERGO Cab’s “pressurized cabin” includes an easily removable and serviceable air filter that filters all incoming air to the cabin, reducing airborne containments. Coupled with ten strategically placed, adjustable air vents and an optional high-output air conditioning system the air is filtered and airflow can be directed by the operator.

Yale gold service The ability to quickly and accurately perform maintenance has a large impact on truck performance, uptime and productivity. From a cab that tilts entirely off to the side to easy-to-reach fuses and the easy accessible “Quad Cooler” radiator, these trucks were designed with maintenance details in mind. It’s the new industry benchmark in truck serviceability—only from Yale.
Truck is shown with optional power tilt enclosed cab.
The cab completely tips to the right side using either the standard hand-operated hydraulic pump or the optional electrically operated pump. Tilting the cab, along with the easy-lifting hoods, provides access to the entire powertrain for service or repair but is not required for daily checks.
The two engine compartment gull-wing hoods, with button release, are made of heavy-gauge steel and mounted with full-length “piano” hinges for durability. They are supported by large gas springs and easily lift up, making maintenance and daily checks simple and fast. Mounted on the top of the counterweight is a hinged, louvered cover that provides access to the cooler package, making radiator service fast and easy. Dual maintenance-free batteries are located in the right-side running board for maximum service access. A lockable external disconnect switch is available for easy lockout/tagout or theft prevention.
Easy access for daily maintenance checks
The main truck wire harness is set off to the side in the frame channel to reduce engine/drive-train compartment clutter. Drive tire rims now incorporate tapped holes to facilitate disassembly during service. One of the most revolutionary service features of the Yale® GP-DC/EC is the computer interface electronics that enables Yale technicians, using state-of-the-art software, to control the engine, transmission and hydraulics. Located in the operator’s console for easy access, the convenient computer connection ports enable technicians to adjust performance settings to match both the driver preference and the application. Technicians can troubleshoot systems without the time consuming, expensive, manual trial and error diagnostic techniques.

Low cost of ownership The purchase price of a truck is only a small part of its overall cost. A lift truck’s cost of ownership is the largest portion of dollars spent and includes elements such as periodic maintenance, repairs, tires, brakes and power costs. Starting with a superior design, Yale engineers focused on cost savings for the owner with rugged components, world-class serviceability and dependability.
Truck shown with optional equipment
Yale has improved serviceability and reduced periodic maintenance labor costs through extended service intervals, including 500-hour engine oil and filter change periods. Power on Demand load sensing hydraulic system extends hydraulic oil and filter change intervals up to 6,000 hours with periodic sampling.
The revolutionary new Load Sensing Hydraulic System utilizes variable displacement pumps for dramatically reduced fuel consumption, and low hydraulic system temperatures for long component life The hydrostatic steering system does not require any mechanical drag link steering connections and components. Steering is accomplished via a two-way cylinder bolted to the steer axle. The steer axle frame is made of high strength ductile cast steel. The adjustment-free tie rods are made of T-1 steel. Tapered roller bearings are used with the heavyduty spindles. Standard brakes are air actuated, “S-cam” type. An air dryer and automatic drain valves are standard equipment to help insure long air system component life. An optional, extended life wet disc brake axle with a dry disc park brake is available for reduced brake maintenance costs.
Simplified filter servicing
The optional ZF WG161 transmission provides long life in heavy duty applications for reduced lifetime cost of ownership. The pin mounted steer axle is a strong, single-piece cast steel unit (vs. the competitions multi-piece, fabricated unit) designed for maximum durability and low maintenance. Grease fittings are installed on the top of the spindle mounts to help increase component life. The adjustable axle stops reduce stress and shock on the steer cylinder and help improve steer tire life.
Built for simplified access
The GP-DC/EC series features the heavy duty Hi-Vis mast. The large internal rollers have full-face contact with the channels and side thrust wear pads for long life and mast rigidity. The mast is pin mounted to heavy frame extensions, facilitating service and eliminating drive axle damage by absorbing forward and back load forces. Controlled maximum lowering speeds, both loaded or unloaded, reduce the potential for product damage.
