GP-Pro EX Quick Start Guides Using “Call Screens” Headers and Footers CONFIDENTIAL Using “Call Screens”, Headers and Footers ¾ Overview: – This module explains the Call Screen and the Header/Footer functions in GP-Pro EX. ¾ Objective: – At the end of this chapter you know: • • • • • How to load base screens on other screens How to display Call Screen nesting How to display a special screens on a base screen How to load registered images on a base screen How to use Headers and Footers to increase productivity CONFIDENTIAL About Call Screen ¾ The Call Screen function loads registered items on base and window screens. ¾ Registered items include: Base Screens Images (including CF images) Marks Keypads. ¾ Items Such as switches, lamps and Keypads from Call Screen function are fully functional. CONFIDENTIAL Call Screen uses ¾ Call Screen allows the developer to use common elements of a project repeatedly by developing an element once and placing those elements on screens where needed. ¾ Call Screen saves memory by allowing an element to be defined once and using it by reference throughout the project. For example, if a company logo (JPEG) is used throughout a project, define it once as an image and use call screen instead of placing a JPEG many times throughout a project. CONFIDENTIAL Loading Base Screens on Base Screens ¾ Develop a screen with an object to be displayed in the project. ¾ Develop a target screen where the object will be used. ¾ Select Draw / Call Screen and select the base screen with the object to be used. ¾ The object is now inserted. It can be used in other screens as well. CONFIDENTIAL Loading Base Screens on Base Screens ¾ Any area on a base screen without objects will remain transparent when loaded on top of another screen. ¾ Multiple screens can be loaded on a base screen. ¾ Updating the source screen updates any instance of the screen. CONFIDENTIAL Nesting Display ¾ Select the nesting button to display screens loaded on other screens using the callscreen function. CONFIDENTIAL Loading Registered Images ¾ Registered Images (chapter 27) can be displayed using the CallScreen function. ¾ Select “Image” to see images registered in Internal Memory. ¾ Select “Image CF” to load a registered image that is stored on a CF Card. CONFIDENTIAL Call Screen - Marks •Marks are bit mapped objects that can be used when other tools will not do the job. •Select Marks and place it just like on an image except for selecting Mark Registration instead of Image. Existing marks are displayed, selected and placed on the screen. •A marks color (foreground and background) can be changed as needed. •Press OK to place on the screen. CONFIDENTIAL Call Screen - Keypads ¾ As with the Marks, Images and Base Screens, Call Screen with Keyboards is done the same way. Select Draw / Call Screen, choose the Keyboard Registration Call Target and then select the keyboard you wish to use. CONFIDENTIAL Call Screen - Recap ¾ Tool for reusing common screen elements built with: Base Screens Images (HMI Memory or CF card based) Marks Keyboards ¾ Easy to use through Draw / Call Screen for placing screen elements. ¾ For more information see: Reference Manual Chapter on “Using a Screen Multiple Times ” CONFIDENTIAL Headers and Footers ¾ Another way to reuse screen objects is to use Headers and Footers. ¾ Up to 20 Headers and 20 Footers can be defined in a project. Each one can be selected for display on any Base Screen. CONFIDENTIAL Headers and Footers ¾ Click on the Header/Footer tab in the bezel area of the display. ¾ Drag out the 4 corner braces to select the required area. ¾ Add objects to the selected area. ¾ To select an existing Header/Footer use the scroll tabs at the side or click on the Select Header/Footer button.
