The GP-1650/D/F/DF are new GPS/DGPS plotters with video plotting and echo sounding capability. The GPS receiver is the 8-channel all-in-view type working on a single frequency. These models offer all-in-one features for pleasure craft and coastal fishing boats. A powerful RISC processor performs high-speed processing of GPS positioning data and displays the vessel's position and course. The GP-1650/D/F/DF work with Furuno MiniChart and C-MAP NT chart cards which contain accurate coastlines, depth contours, buoys, lighthouses and other navigational features.
In the Course Plot mode, you have the choice of four presentation modes—True Motion North-up and Course-up and Relative Motion North-up and Course-up modes. The GP-1650F and GP-1650DF with the 50/200 kHz echo sounder module present detailed information on fish and seabed. The echo sounder data can be displayed jointly with course plot or alone on the full size screen. The system has various alarm functions to warn of arrival to or departure from a predefined area (arrival/anchor watch), XTE exceeding a preset limit, approaching a dangerous area (proximity alert), and so forth according to your settings. Water depth and fish alarms are also available in the GP-1650F and GP-1650DF.
The Display modes include Course Plot, Nav Data, Steering and Highway. The Steering Display mode provides an intuitive indication of course to steer and cross-track-error (XTE). The Highway mode is useful when Operation is simple and straightforward, using the touchpads and easy-to-understand softkeys. You can you are heading for your fishing ground or following a operate the unit with greater comfort and speed thanks to series of waypoints along the planned route. its user-friendly design and the powerful RISC processor.
PRIMARY DISPLAY MODES
Course Plot
Nav Data
Choice of TM North-up or Courseup and RM North-up or Course-up mode.
Essential navigational information can be clearly read at a distance.
Steering Mode Assists the vessel in following intended course.
Highway Useful for following legs or segments of a planned route.
Course Plot Display Planned route
Own Own vessel vessel's track
Lighthouses
The course plot display shows your vessel's position with a motion trend vector, waypoints along a planned route with your vessel's position, speed and course. Your vessel's heading and speed are indicated by a vector at your present position. Coastlines, buoys, lighthouses, depth contours and other features are displayed based on data from a Furuno MiniChart or C-MAP NT chart. Display colors can be changed for optimum visibility depending on ambient light conditions. C-MAP NT charts provide detailed information on a buoy, lighthouse or other aids to navigation that you specify with the cursor plus port service information. The port service information includes the availability of water and fuel supplies, shipyards and first aid, etc.

Spot sounding
Tidal data
Spot sounding feature gives water depth data as shown on the paper charts. It is helpful for prediction of water depths where you navigate.
Tidal data may be shown on the screen if available in C-MAP NT chart.
Presentation Modes in Course Plot Display Four chart orientations are available in the course plot display: True Motion North-up, Course-up and Relative Motion North-up and Course-up modes. In the True Motion modes, coastlines remain stationary on the screen while your vessel moves according to its actual speed and course. In the Relative Motion mode, your vessel stays at the screen center and coastlines move relative to your vessel.
TM Course-up mode (Automatic)
TM North-up mode
True north is fixed at the screen top in the TM/RM North-up modes like a normal paper chart. In the TM/RM Course-up mode, automatic resetting takes place at a course change of 22.5 degrees and the vessel's intended course is kept at the screen top like a head-up display.
RM North-up mode
Echo Sounder Display (GP-1650F/1650DF only)
Dual frequency
A-scope ▲
Incorporating a powerful 50/200 kHz, echo sounder module, the GP-1650F/1650DF presents an echo sounder picture in addition to the course plot display. A portion of the sounder picture may be changed at your preference. Full-screen echo sounding modes include Normal (single- or dual-freq), Bottom-lock, Zoom and A-scope. Selection of sounding range, phasing, gain, display mode, frequency and other settings are simple with the softkeys at the right of the screen. A water temperature graph can be displayed if an appropriate temperature sensor is provided.
