Grandstream GXV3140 Telephone Configuration Guide This guide outlines the basic configuration required to set up a Grandstream GXV3140 video IP phone with your FortiVoice system. In order to configure the Grandstream GXV3140, you must first have an available IP extension that is enabled and configured with a phone type of Other. See the FortiVoice User Guide for directions on how to set up an IP extension.
Configuring your Grandstream Video IP Phone 1. Connect the phone to the network. 2. Reboot your phone to obtain a dynamic IP address (DHCP). Please refer to the Grandstream User Guide for instructions on how to set up your phone on a static network. 3. Open your web browser and enter the IP address (will be shown on the phone’s display). 4. Once the page is loaded, enter the username admin and password admin.
5. Click on Account 1 tab and populate the following fields:
a. Account Name: Enter name that will appear on the phone. b. SIP Server: Enter your FortiVoice’s local IP address or WAN IP address (for external IP phones). c. SIP User ID: Enter the extension number for this phone. d. Authenticate ID: Enter the username of extension. e. Authenticate Password: Enter the password of extension. f. Voice Mail UserID: Enter tsvm. g. Name: Enter the caller ID for this extension. This field can be used depending on your FortiVoice settings. Please refer to “Caller ID setup” in the FortiVoice User Guide. h. Tel URI: — leave at default setting. 6. Click Save. 7. Click SIP Settings from the left menu. Change Registration Expiration (m) to 60.
8. Click Save.

9. Click Codec Settings from the left menu.
By default the GXV3140 has H.264 selected. In order to be able to use the video call option with your FortiVoice system, you will need to add the H.263 video codec. Here are the steps to add the H.263 video codec: a. Select H.263 under Preferred Video Codec. b. Click the right arrow to select the codec. 10. Click Save. 11. Click Call Settings from the left menu. Change the DialPlan to {x+|*x+}.
12. Click Save. 13. Click Apply to complete the setup.
