Greencore iBar Version 5.2 050713 Installation Instructions Unzip the attached file two files “ibarv5.exe” and “access.txt” onto any computer (you may need I.T. to allow you to do this as ibarv5.exe is an executable file and your anti-virus software may object). Edit access.txt with Notepad or any other text editor. This is your password file. It can contain only one password, which must consist of letters or numbers, no punctuation or spaces. It can be from 1 to 10 characters long. This is case sensitive so for example the word ‘Password’ is not the same as ‘password’ because of the capital ‘P’. Access.txt currently contains the word ‘password’, change it for a password of your choice. If you are going to use something easy to remember, try and make it a little more difficult for your operators to crack it by interspersing capitals and lower case e.g. SaRaH. You may have a different password on every computer if you wish, just edit “access.txt” on each computer. Save the file when you have your password of choice. I suggest you keep even its existence a closely guarded secret as some of your operators are very computer aware. If they even know that the file exists it will become useless. Using a USB disk formatted with the NTFS file system (Karl knows how to do this I believe, if not call me) copy both files onto the USB disk. Advanced users instructions: Copy both files into c:\program files\ibar on each computer running iBar, overwriting ibarv5.exe. Step by Step instructions Take the USB disk to the first IPC and plug it into the spare USB socket. If iBar is running on the IPC, close it. When the computer detects the drive, select the option ‘open folder to view files’. From the start menu, go to to ‘my computer’ and click on the c drive, then navigate to c:\program files\ibar. Drag the ‘ibarv5.exe’ and ‘access.txt’ files from the USB folder to the c:\progam files\ibar folder. You will be asked to confirm that you wish to overwrite the existing ibarv5.exe, answer yes. You may now run iBar. You will see no difference to the operation except the password ‘322244’ will no longer work, the only password that will work is the one you put into access.txt.

Backing up the labels. While you have the USB disk it would be worth while taking a copy from each of the IPC’s onto the USB disk so you have a backup and so you can make sure all the pc’s have the same label designs. All the labels are stored in the c:\program files\ibar directory with each customer having their own subdirectory. Copy them from the c:\progam files\ibar folder into the USB disk folder (ask Karl for advice if you are unsure of the process) Eject the usb disk from the computer (again ask Karl for advice if you are unsure of the process).
