Place some towels under work area to keep work area clean. Remove Front Cover Ice Bin and Agitation Shelf. Towels in work area. Step 2 Continued: Remove two highlighted screws from machine to be able to insert foam mold in place. Remove two highlighted screws. Step 3: Cut away ice bin foam using foam mold slots as guide. Do not push foam mold fully onto ice bin foam yet as this may make for a loose fit later. See next page for more details. Ice bin foam. Foam mold. Step 3 Continued: Foam mold semi-transparent. Area to cut shown in dotted red line. Using foam mold, trace lines of where to cut with sharpie. Remove foam mold and cut areas marked as specified below. Cut along these slotted lines. Cut to where existing ice bin foam ends. Cut around this protrusion. Step 3 Continued: You should now see cracked or broken drain pipe. Step 4: Using PVC pipe saw (provided), cut area shown in dotted red line. 1) Slide highlighted foam (Ice bin drain tube insulation) back and cut just beyond coupler first 2) Cut drain pipe through break second Coupler Step 5: Unscrew broken drain pipe from ice bin. Step 6: After removing broken drain pipe, use plumber’s tape around threads of new CPVC drain pipe. Clean cold plate threads of previous plumbers tape and other debris. Add plumber’s tape to threads. Old broken drain pipe removed. New CPVC drain pipe about to be installed. Step 7: Add PVC glue to outside lower end of drain pipe (do not add coupler yet!) and rotate new drain pipe in place. Step 7 Continued: Add PVC glue to inside of both ends of new longer coupler (provided) and install onto new drain pipe. Step 7 Continued: Add PVC glue onto outside of ice bin drain tube and assemble into coupler. Slide ice bin drain tube insulation back into place. Step 8: Install foam mold into place. See following slides for more details. When installing foam mold try to install it flat but biased upwards and to the right as much as possible. Foam mold What assembled FRU kit will look like within the machine Step 8 Continued: Foam mold features. Retainer spikes to help keep mold in place. Push these onto existing ice bin foam. Do not remove/reinsert as this will create a hole in the existing foam and retainer features will no longer work. Screw hole to help fix foam mold in place. Drill into ice bin front mount if necessary with #10-32 screw. Opening to spray new foam into foam mold. Current version of foam mold clear so service tech can see how well foam is propagating through mold cavity. Step 9: Spray new foam into foam mold spray hole (see previous page). Make sure surrounding area is well covered as foam is very sticky/messy. Allow foam to dry/harden as much as possible before wiping away as any areas wiped away will allow internal foam to continue to leak out, making foam less dense inside. Step 9 Continued: Re-assemble two screws from step 2. After 50 minutes most of the foam should be hardened enough, cut away any foam that has grown outside of the mold. Foam mold remains within machine. Step 10: Reinstall agitation shelf and ice bin front cover. Reinstall Front Cover Ice Bin and Agitation Shelf. Remove any towels/foam pieces in work area. Step 11: Ask outlet not to use machine for next 12 hours. After 12 hrs customer may fill ice bin and resume use as usual. Keep machine turned on as agitation will not allow any excess foam to harden and stick to agitation shelf. Place tape over ice bin lid. Add note to bin lid saying not to use for next 12 hrs. Step 12: After 12 hours of foam curing drain pipe replacement is complete. Customer may use as normal.
