WELCOME! Thank you for downloading or purchasing Plektron Guitar Amp This guide explains how to use GA quickly and easily. DETAILS Plektron GA is only compatible with Microsoft Windows systems. The stand-alone version requires the use of an ASIO driver while the plugin version requires the use of a sequencer compatible with VST plugins. Microsoft Windows OS:  Windows® XP  Vista® (32/64 Bit)  Windows 7® (32/64 Bit) Minimum required:  Pentium4® or AMD, 2GHz or higher (multicore reccomended)  512MB RAM  ASIO® board for standalone use  VST host for vst plugin use  Midi controller (reccomended) INSTALLATION After downloading from plektronfx.com GA site:  extract the zip file and copy /move the folder in your folder VstPlugIns  Install the GA.TTF font  click with the right mouse button on "guitar amp 2.0.exe" then "send to" then "desktop shortcut" PREVIEW GA is divided into three main areas::  RACK  TOOLS  MANAGER Rack: this section includes the different modules (amplifiers, cabinets, effects, etc) Tools: this section categorizes all the modules included in GA. The categories are as follows: Amps, Cabs and dist, Modulation, Filter and Eq, Reverb and Delay and finally Utility. To change category click on the left or right arrow to move to the next or previous category. Manager: in this section you can manage the various presets. SETUP Before starting to use GA some settings are required. To open the SETUP panel click “SETUP” in the manager section. Attention: Some settings are only available in stand-alone mode. Quality: it adjusts the refresh rate, set to "normal" in case more resources to the system are required. Aspect: GA look can be changed in different colours. Zoom Level: the window size can be changed (only in stand alone mode) Audio device: set the ASIO driver to use, in case you don’t have a sound card with ASIO driver , install alternative drivers as asio4all www.asio4all.com. (only in stand alone mode) Audio settings: open the settings panel of the sound card selected Input: it select the audio input of your soundcard and assign to input A or B of GA Midi in device: set up to two MIDI controller (only in stand alone mode) To confirm and save the settings, click OK or CANCEL. ACTIVATION When you start GA the demo mode is active, it has all the features but every 10 seconds the signal is interrupted. If you have purchased a license, it’s enough entering the serial number. Open the Setup panel, enter the serial number you received by email in the blank field, double-click on SAVE-OK. If the serial number is correct and the operation is successful, you will get the following screen. RACK Now you can start using Plektron Guitar Amp! GA uses inputs 1 and 2 of your audio card, so connect your instrument guitar / bass. From the Tool bar to the right, choose one of the available modules, then click on the thumbnail and drag to the rack so that a red bar appears, release and the module will be loaded into the rack. If some modules are already present in the rack, drag a new module in the rack and then move up or down, the module will be placed in the point shown by the red bar. In GA the audio signal is sequential, then the module INPUT immediately goes to the form in which it will process the signal up to the MASTER module, then the order of the modules influence the effect on the final sound. To move a module, it is enough placing the pointer over the module right edge, the pointer changes from an arrow to a hand, now drag the mouse at the point where you want to move the module. The red bar indicates where the modules is going to be placed. To remove a module, press the CLOSE button on each form. When the rack area is full, you can scroll the view by using the sidebar. PRESET MANAGER prev. Preset name next edit bank presets save/load GA includes already many presets divided into preset bank. To load a preset bank click on “preset bank window” and choose one, click on the + o – button to move to the next or previous preset. Every bank contains 32 editable presets. It is also possible to directly change a preset using the key CTRL (-) and ALT (+). To open the preset panel, click on the “Preset name window” and then choose the desired preset. Thanks to the preset manager, it is also possible to modifying the already existing presets/banks or creating new ones. Clicking on the SAVE/LOAD button, it shows a submenu with the following functions: SAVE: the current preset/bank is overwritten SAVE AS: this saves the bank with a new different name CREATE A NEW BANK: creates a new empty bank IMPORT SINGLE PRESET: this load at the current position a single preset (.gap) EXPORT SNGLE PRESET: this saves the current preset as single preset (.gap) EDIT NAME: it renames the current preset and after you can save the bank or export as single preset. GA2.2 offer a quick preset change and with the preset manager and bank, you can manage your own presets as you want. MIDI Most of GA knobs and buttons can be quickly and easily controlled via MIDI. Make sure a midi device has been setup in the standalone version panel or that a MIDI input has been assigned to the VST plugin (refer to the manual of your host in use). To control a knob or button via midi: click with the right mouse button on the desired knob or button, then select the MIDI LEARN from the drop-down menu, move a command of your MIDI controller. Now the knob or button is controlled by your MIDI controller. To deselect a command, click with the right mouse button on the knob or button and choose the voice NONE. Guitar amp also contains a synthesizer module, the input assigned to midi GA will also be used for the synth module.
