RI‐12 Prepare for upgrade DO THIS FIRST RI‐12 modules shipped from the factory prior to this release have a software version that can only accept software upgrades when the RI‐12 has a NMEA 2000 address of 127. It is essential to make sure the RI‐12 has address is 127 before proceeding with software upgrades.
Check the RI‐12 network address 1. Press HOME key on the display or PAGES. 2. Select Settings > Network > Device list.

3. Scroll down and select the RI12‐HALO Radar.
4. The device information for the RI‐12 will be displayed. The address needs to be 127.
5. If the address is not 127, disconnect any GS25 GPS antenna from the NMEA 2000 network as the GS25 commonly uses this address. 6. Power cycle the RI‐12 then re‐check the address. (see step 1) If the address is still not 127, isolate the NMEA 2000 network to just one MFD and the RI‐12. Then power cycle the RI‐12 and MFD before re‐checking address.

Check Software version: Under Radar Status > Scanner Info > Software version. The software version after the upgrade should be 5.2.17
Check antenna height: Antenna height setting should be re‐checked and confirmed as this is critical for STC/Sea Clutter optimisation.
Check Antenna Length: Antenna size should also be re‐checked to specify if a 3, 4 or 6 ft antenna is installed.
Reset radar to factory defaults: Resetting the radar to factory defaults is strongly recommended after the upgrade. This will not affect the installation settings such as antenna height and width. It will reset settings such as Gain and Sea Clutter.
