ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Equipment Orientation and Teacher Instruction. Wear appropriate footwear. Shoes must be fully enclosed, no open toes. E.g. sandals Close fitting clothes must be worn. Remove strings hanging from pullovers/sweaters. Aprons must be worn. Long and loose hair must be tied back.

All students should be shown how to operate the unit correctly. Always check for proper assembly of the machine. Do not pass the max indicator line when submerging the base into a food product. Unplug the machine prior to cleaning. Do not use to mix hot liquids. Never lift the blender out of the liquid while the blender is operating. Do not use for hard foods, rinds, heavy batters or dough’s.

8. Do not use to chop ice. 9. Do not operate the motor continuously for more than 1 minute at a time. Allow to cool for 1 min prior to continuing. OPERATING PROCEDURE: 1. Plug the blender cord into the outlet. 2. Place the food to be blended into a suitable container with high sides, for mixing. For best results solid foods should not be larger than 1/2 “pieces. 3. Grasp the unit in the palm of your hand. Place the blade end of the blender to the bottom of the container before turning on to prevent splattering. Use the other hand to hold the container in place. 4. Press and hold the desired setting (low or high) on the speed switch for continuous blending. 5. Slowly move the blender through the food, up – down- and sideways until the food is thoroughly blended. 6. Release the speed switch and allow the blade to stop moving. Unplug the unit from the outlet. CLEAN UP: 1. 2. 3. 4.
Unplug the unit from the outlet. Twist and remove the plastic sleeve and blade from the end of the blender. Run under warm water to rinse the unit clean. For units that do not have removable sleeve and blade, hold the blade end of the blender under warm running water to rinse clean. Wash the base of the hand held blender carefully by hand in pot sink. Do not pass the max line. Blades are sharp; keep your fingers away from the blades while cleaning. 5. Do not immerse the upper motor base in water 6. Use a sanitizing solution to thoroughly wipe down the blender.
If and emergency situation occurs while conducting this task or there is an equipment malfunction, shut the equipment off immediately and unplug it. REPORT ANY HAZARDOUS SITUATION TO YOUR INSTRUCTIO / SUPERVISOR IMMEDIATELY
