FINISHER MJ-1031 PRECAUTIONS SETTING UNPACKING ACCESSORIES SETUP OPERATION CHECK The set-up procedures vary slightly depending on whether the PFP or the LCF, or neither of them is installed in the e-STUDIO. This section mainly explains about the set-up procedure when the PFP is installed, and only the differences from set-up procedures for other cases are described.

Be sure to shut down the equipment and unplug the power cable before any option is installed. The procedure for the shutdown is as follows: - Press the [ON/OFF] button until you hear a sound. - Confirm that the ON/OFF lamp is out. - Turn the power OFF with the main power switch. Be sure to install the equipment near an electric outlet so that it is easily accessible. * For Japan, remove the ground wire after the power cable is unplugged. Before installing the MJ-1031 Finisher in the e-STUDIO, follow the procedure below to perform the setting on the e-STUDIO. Turn the power ON with the main power switch while pressing [0] and [8] simultaneously.
Key in [1912], and then press the [START] button.
Key in [0], and then press [ENTER]. ENTER
Shut down the e-STUDIO by pressing the [ON/OFF] button until you hear a sound.

Open the packing carton. Take out the unpacking instructions.
Take out the accessories.
Remove the packing material. Take out the 4 accessories.

Peel off the 3 blind seals.
Temporarily tighten the screw on the left top cover.
Hook the bridge unit bracket on the screw.

Secure the bridge unit bracket to the left top cover and the bridge unit with the 3 screws.
Tighten the screw temporarily tightened. * The lower 2 screws used to secure the bracket are co-packed with the Finisher Bridge Kit.

Take off the rear cover-1. ①
Loosen the screw. Take off the LGC board lower cover.
Release the harness from the harness clamp.

Attach the core to the harnesses. Wrap the harnesses around the core, and then close the core.
Insert the locking support to the LGC board.

Connect the free harness to the converter board. Install the converter board by aligning it to the connector and locking support.

Install the LGC board lower cover and secure it with the screw.
Install the rear cover-1.
Peel off the 4 blind seals from the paper exit cover.

■Set-up instructions when the PFP or the LCF is installed Remove the 2 screws from the PFP exit cover. (Only when the PFP is installed)
Secure the 2 support brackets with 1 screw respectively.

Install the support bracket cover and secure it with the screw.
Temporarily tighten the 2 screws.

Hook the finisher rail on the screws temporarily tightened.
Secure the finisher rail with 2 screws.
Tighten the screws temporarily tightened.

Place the Finisher on the finisher rail. Install the Finisher so that it is firmly engaged with the bridge unit bracket.

Secure the 2 rail brackets to the finisher rail with 1 screw each.

Remove the screw at the front. Take off the bracket fixing the tray.
Remove the screw at the rear. Take off the bracket fixing the tray.

Install the front and rear finisher rail covers with 1 screw each.

■The setup procedure shown below is common regardless of the installation of the PFP or the LCF. Cut out the blind section from the rear cover.
Connect the interface cable of the Finisher.

Install the connector cover supplied as an accessory.
Insert the binding band from the lower hole through the upper one of the connector cover so that a loop is formed. Fully squeeze the band, and then cut out its unnecessary part.
