Harmonic Design harmonic design (called „hd“) is well known since his foundation in 1980 for development, manufacturing and distribution of innovative loudspeaker systems and acoustic measurement services. Our customers are professional rental companies, system integrators besides HiFi companies and corporate industry. The hd 3-Step-Loudspeaker philosophy guarantees the customer to provide every listener in the audience the same linear sound.
Step 1 – the loudspeaker chassis must be as good as possible to prevent non-linear “mistakes” of the chassis, which are non-recoverable in the following signal path. That is why we develop loudspeaker chassis on our own in combination with the cabinet.
Step 2 – we believe in passive crossovers and powerful DSPs. No matter what is said about passive crossovers, you need to know how it works. The cost-benefit ratio is tremendous without the loss of quality. Below 200Hz passive filtering is not efficient enough, that is why “active” crossovers are then used.
Step 3 – inherent part of an hd loudspeaker system is the Digital Signal Controller, called DSC. After extensive research and development since the 1990’s we are able to use FIR- and IIR- filters in our DSCs to make time correction besides a simple frequency correction. A special feature of our processors is our frequency dependent group delay correction. Not to mention complete loudspeaker protection with special limiters and additional features such as Delay, Mute, Gain and phase reverse to provide a reliable and linear sound system.

hd ML-Series LineArray Stick Harmonic Design
The hd ML-Series is a product family of very compact LineArray Systems, specially designed for top quality reproduction of both, music and speech. The lightweight and elegant speakers can be installed and set up in only a few seconds. The speaker column´s slim, unobtrusive design integrates seamless into room architecture and stage areas appealing to event organizers, agencies and audiences. The hd ML-Series consists of the hd ML16 and hd ML24 as standard sized column loudspeakers. According to the modular system it´s possible to built even larger columns to satisfy every applications needs. In the hd ML16 and hd ML24 sixteen respectively twenty four special designed 2” neodymium drivers produce sound with accurate cylindrical dispersion characteristics in the whole operating frequency range and up to the highest audible frequencies. According to the true 1-way design, the ML-Series is free of interference in the important mid-range because there are no phase delays in the crossover that typical 2-way systems have. The result is an outstanding sound quality in music and speech, extended dynamic and even coverage of audience areas. The hd ML-Series is fully compatible to the Harmonic Design system concept and can be effectively combined with the active subwoofers hd P12, hd P15 and hd P18. The hd ML-Series is designed to use with an external DSP for crossover, protection and speech intelligibility improvements. For maximum sound performance and operating reliability the Harmonic Design processors are recommended to guarantee a long lifetime and superb performance at every sound pressure level. The hd ML-Series loudspeakers are standard equipped with a 35mm flange for distance rods or speaker stands in mobile use and a standardized U-slot on the rear of the hd ML-series for M5 nuts opens the possibility for various mounting solutions. Safe flown applications are possible with an optional clamp, half coupler or similar items for mounting on top of the loudspeaker column. Robust padded bags for transportation are offered separately and provide adequate protection for the equipment.

hd x81-Series Universal Loudspeaker Harmonic Design
The hd x81-Series are lightweight, compact and decent designed 2-way passive loudspeakers and consists of the universal loudspeakers hd 181 and hd 281 as well as the Low-Profile-Monitor hd 281M. Special developed 8 inch drivers in combination with an 1 inch compression driver with kapton diaphragm for improved HF extension and response linearity with excellent dynamics ensure perfect reproduction of speech and music. The eight inch woofer is superb for reproduction of vocals and instruments with its fast attack and decay. The HF driver is horn loaded with specially designed elliptical horn for smooth coverage pattern 80° x 60°. The enclosure is constructed of high-quality birch multi-plywood coated with a durable scratch-, impact- and weatherproofed polyurethane finish. Equipped with comfortable handles for easy transport. A special powder-coated steel grille with acoustic foam on the inside protects the driver. Carefully placed M8 drive-in nuts and a flange on bottom enables the possibility of placing the loudspeaker on a distance rod or speaker stand. Additional rubber stacking feet at the bottom guarantees safety stand. Connection on the rear terminal by two Speakon NL4 on pin 1, pin2 is hard wired for linking the input signal. Optional RAL painting is available.

hd Sub-Series High Performance Subwoofer Harmonic Design
The hd Sub12, hd Sub15 and hd Sub18 are compact, transportable and powerful vented subwoofers. According to extensive research in designing high-power loudspeaker chassis over the past 30 years, the new designed long-excursion chassis with 3“ respectively 4“ voice coil, fiberglass double spider and single-role rubber surround enables linear excursion up to ± 15 mm. Dramatically improved cooling of the voice coil through the pole piece and spider allows an extremely high continuous power rating. Improved cooling increases the durability and reliability of the subwoofer. Excellent dynamics and tight impulse response combined with outstanding sound pressure level is the result. Filtering is done by the Harmonic Design DSP platform. With active crossovers of 24dB / octave until max. 160 Hz, smooth transitions between LF and HF are possible. The enclosure is constructed of high-quality birch multi-plywood coated with a durable scratch-, impact- and weatherproofed polyurethane finish. Equipped with two comfortable handles on the sides for easy transport and stacking. A special powder-coated steel grille with acoustic foam on the inside protects the driver. The M20 flange on top enables the possibility of placing a mid-high loudspeaker on a distance rod on top of the subwoofer. Additional rubber stacking feet at the bottom with matching receptacle on the opposing side guarantees safety stacking of multiple cabinets. Connection on the rear terminal by two Speakon NL4 on pin 2, pin1 is hard wired for linking the input signal. Optional RAL painting is available.
