Solder-type contacts require individual heat-shrink insulation of each solder joint (1/8” thinwall recommended). 4. “Male” connectors have exposed contacts 5. “Female” connectors have recessed contacts. 6. It is extremely difficult to terminate Elco/Edac connectors without the Elco contact tools (listed above). 7. It is impossible to use a male actuating screw or female actuating nut connector on a panel or snake box. They are only used for cable mount. 8.
