System profile Before installation and operation, please carefully read this manual, so as to ensure proper installation and usage. Please keep this manual properly for future reference. The colours of products and locations of parts described in the manual may differ from those of the physical products. HC hospital nursing intercom system has benefits such as simple operation, convenient application and reliable running. Functions LED and LCD displays for mainframe. The mainframe employs LCD in Chinese with menu operation, and the LCD is able to display date, time, nursing grade, system status, and so on. The mainframe panel has 60/30 dual-color LED indicator lights that are able to display the operation status of each extension. Flexible setup of extension numbers. The extension employs online coding, the extension numbers can be set up as desired, and voice play is true to life, clear, and without distortion. Uninterrupted call. The mainframe is able to display calls from multiple extensions, and memorize them, extensions can perform normal incoming calls in all statuses such as standby, talking, and broadcast. Handheld call intercom. With a handheld caller, the extension can realize call, call release, intercom, and LED display. Duplex intercom. Duplex intercom is available between the mainframe and extensions, and the mainframe can talk in two means, namely, hands free and handheld. Voice calling number report. When an extension calls the mainframe, the LED channel of the mainframe can choose indicator light flash, music prompt, or voice broadcast 'XX calling'. Call saving. When an extension calls the mainframe and there is no response, the mainframe will automatically save the extension number. Special nursing priority. The special nursing extension can report the number with a priority, with voice announcement 'XX special nursing calling'. Transfusion alarm. There is an alarm interface of transfusion for the extension, and the transfusion alarming device is optional. Upon transfusion completion, the extension will automatically give an alarm to the mainframe, and there are announcements for the mainframe, for example, alarm sound, flashing light, and voice announcement 'XX transfusion completed'. Three-level nursing. Three levels of nursing, namely, special, high and common, can be set on the mainframe according to patients' conditions. Wireless paging. A wireless transmitter is optional for the mainframe. When the extension initiates a call, the wireless transmitter will transmit the extension number to nursing people equipped with wireless receivers. Parallel function. The same bus can connect four mainframes to realize multi-level management. Broadcast. Audio input is available for the mainframe to broadcast to all extensions. Group call. The mainframe can realize call to and intercom with partial extensions at the same time. Volume setup. The mainframe can set up prompt volume (when the call is initiated by an extension), and the talk volume of the mainframe (in case of hands free intercom), when an extension calls the mainframe, two different prompt volumes for day and night can be set up, and automatic switch over can be realized by the mainframe. Alarm prompt. There is an alarm output interface for the mainframe, and the light can flash when an alarm is received. Timed alarm. The mainframe can set alarm time for timed power-on, when the mainframe's power supply is normal, 60-second alarms can be given to all extensions on a regular basis, whether they are powered on or off. Corridor display. The mainframe can be externally connected to a dot matrix display, the dot matrix display is able to display calling extensions' numbers and nursing levels, when there is no call, the display can display year, month, date, time, 'Please keep quiet!', and etiquette phrases in a rolling manner. Internet access. With 485 communication ports, the mainframe is able to access the Internet, supported by software, the mainframe is able to collect statistics of calling extension numbers, reply time, intercom time, and call times. Self check of fault. When powered on, the mainframe will check extensions one by one. If the extension is normal, the indicator light will flash. If there is anything wrong with a certain extension, or there is no response to the extension's call, the corresponding path's indicator light will turn green and maintains. After all extensions are checked, the green indicator light will maintain for five seconds before going out. 1 2. Only one two-core bus (an addition two-core wire is required for connection with external power supply when using the broadcast or connected to the transfusion alarm device) is connected with extensions. Four mainframes can be connected in parallel to realize multi-level management. The HC-30 mainframe can be connected to 30 extensions at most, while the HC-60 mainframe can be connected to 60 extensions at most. The maximum communication distance between extensions and the mainframe can be up to 1000 meters. Cooperate with HC-60 (or HC-30) mainframe, and the LED is able to display 1-60 (or 1-30) channels of extension calls, voice announcements and melody prompt. There are 1-30/1-60 channels of medical record slots. According to the beds for inpatients, the medical record of each patient can be inserted into the corresponding number. With Chinese LCD display, it is able to display time, date, system status, and so on. Simple installation, and only one nine-core wire is required for connection with the mainframe. Only one two-core bus (for broadcast and transfusion alarm functions, an additional two-core wire is required for connection with outside power supply) is required for connection with 1 and COM on the mainframe, and the extension is equipped with a handheld caller. Press down the Call key on the handheld caller or the Call/Release key on the extension to call the mainframe. There is a transfusion alarm interface on the extension that can cooperate with the transfusion alarm device. When transfusion is completed, the extension reports alarms to the mainframe automatically, and the mainframe will play voice announcement XX extension transfusion completed. Waterproof switch (HB-1) It is generally installed in the toilet of the ward for alarm when there is an emergency of patients in the toilet. Two alarm modes are available, namely, pulling cord and pressing key. Water balls and fog in the toilet shall be prevented, so as to ensure the normal use of the switch. In case of emergency alarm in the toilet, there will be voice prompt and number display on the mainframe. When the switch is in the alarm status, the indicator light on the switch will blink, if the indicator light goes out, it means that the nurse station has received the alarm signal. Transfusion alarm device (HA-1) Able to cooperate with HI-1/2 extension or operate independently (an additional power supply is required). Clamped onto the transfusion tube, it has not contact with transfusion. Simple one-key operation. Beep will emit when transfusion is completed; at the same time, the transfusion tube will be automatically blocked. When it cooperates with the HI-1/2 extension, alarm signals can be sent to the mainframe of the nurse station through the extension. There is LED display on the mainframe, and the voice announcement 'XX transfusion completed' will be played. Simple installation, only one three-core wire is required for direct connection with the mainframe for convenient check. Generally, it is installed in the corridor to facilitate nursing personnel in the corridor in observing. The dot matrix display can display the calling extension number and nursing grade, in case of no call, it is able to display year, month, date, time, 'Please keep quiet!' or etiquette phrases. Independent power supply shall be provided. Door lamp Generally installed outside the ward to facilitate nurses in the corridor in observing. When the bed calls the nurse station, the door lamp of the ward will blink. When the ward bed releases the call or when the nurses talks with the patient, the door lamp outside the ward will go out. Generally speaking, only one lamp is required for one ward. 8. External power supply Red and black wires (connected to the red and black wires on extensions) If it is necessary for the extension to realize broadcast and connecting to the transfusion alarm device, the external power supply is added to the extension for power supply. Each external power supply can supply power for 30 extensions. When the number of extensions exceeds 30, an additional power supply is required. Output parameters:14V 2.5A Dimensions: 87x71x39mm(LxWxH) 9. Wireless transmitter (HWT-1) Cooperating with the wireless receiver. When an extension calls, the wireless transmitter will automatically transmit the calling extension number to nursing personnel equipped with the wireless receiver. Generally installed nearby nurses, so as to ensure reliable receive distance of the wireless receiver. Independent power supply shall be provided. Effective wireless transmitting radius of 50 meters. Working voltage: DC15-18V Maximum working current: 2500mA Dimensions: 140x116x35mm(LxWxH) A, B, +18V and COM wires (wires A and B are connected with binding posts A and B, +18V and COM to negative and positive poles of external power supply) 10. Wireless receiver (HWR-1) Cooperating with the wireless transmitter. When an extension calls, the wireless transmitter will automatically transmit the calling extension number to nursing personnel equipped with the wireless receiver. Usually carried by walking nurses. When an extension calls the mainframe, there will be prompt, and the extension number will be displayed. Power supplied by battery, with a low power consumption. The effective receive radius for the wireless device is 50 meters. Dimensions:63x47x28mm(LxWxH) No.10 CALL 11.Monitoring statistics line concentration box and monitoring statistics software Optional. It has to cooperate with the monitoring statistics software (model: HWS-1). Connected to 232 serial ports of the computer, it can monitor and collect statistics from 32 mainframes at the same time. Line concentration box power supply, model: HWR-x 12V500mA. One three-core wire is used for connection to each mainframe. Installed in the computer, it can collect statistics, perform analysis and print statements. User friendly interface and clear data recording, it is conducive to service management and supervision. Information and data synchronization. Able to display the information status of each extension synchronously (namely, standby, call and talk). Complete statistics, and generation of statement in Access format. Able to display the extension's call origination time, call duration, talk start time, and talk duration, able to collect statistics of the most recent call and talk records, able to query all call and talk records of a certain extension, and able to query call and talk records of all extensions on a daily or monthly basis. 5 Free software 3. System installation 1. Extension coding (take one extension as an example) Preparation for extension online coding: Connect one pair of white and black wires on the extension or the waterproof switch respectively onto the two-core bus corresponding to 1 and COM terminals of the mainframe. For the specific wiring, please refer to the 'Wiring mode for extensions, waterproof switches and mainframes' of article 2 below (for details, please refer to P6). Extension online coding setup: Connect the extension with the mainframe according to the above-mentioned method, press down the mainframe's power switch for about two seconds, and the mainframe starts up and enters the self check status. After self check, press the function key on the mainframe for about two seconds, and enter the system setup options. For specific procedures of online coding setup, please refer to the 'Online coding setup' of article 11 in the 'System setup' in the fifth time (for details, please refer to P15). 2. Connection between extensions, waterproof switches and mainframes A. If broadcast and transfusion alarm functions are not required for the extension, only a two-core bus is required for connection between the extension and the mainframe. B. If broadcast and transfusion alarm functions are required for the extension, a four-core bus is required for connection between the extension and the mainframe. (When the number of extensions is within 30, only one additional external power supply is required, when the number of the extensions goes beyond 30, two additional power supplies are required). 6 3. Connect the red and black wires of the door lamp onto the red and black wires of the extension according to the illustration. 2. Generally speaking, it is installed on the ward door. When the extension makes a call, the door lamp flashes to remind nursing personnel. 7 6. Corridor display and mainframe connection 3P / 2P / + Power source Corridor display Mainframe rear diagram There are two groups of wires for the corridor display, one group is for power cord (+12V and COM), while the other group is for data signal and power control cord (A, B and Ctr). Respectively connect +12V and COM on the display to the negative and positive poles of the DC12V500mA power supply. Connect A, B, Ctr and COM on the display respectively to A, B, Ctr and COM on the mainframe. 7. Wireless transmitter and mainframe wiring 3P / 2P / + Power source Mainframe rear diagram Wireless transmitter Wires for wireless transmitters are divided into two groups, one group is for power cord (+12V, COM), and the other group is for data signal and power control cord (A, B, Ctr). Connect (+12V, COM) on the wireless transmitter respectively to the positive and negative poles of the DC12V500 mA; connect A, B, Ctr and COM on the wireless transmitter respectively to A, B, Ctrand COM on the mainframe. 8. Insert the power cord into the line concentration box's power port. B. Respectively insert the computer connecting line for the line concentration box (one terminal with 485/232 port while the other with RJ45 port) into the 232 port and line concentration box of the computer according to the illustratio n. Connect the mainframe connecti ng lines (one terminal with RJ45 port while the other terminal with green, blue, and black wires) respectively to the three binding posts (A, B and COM) of the line concentration box and mainfra me. D. In case of multiple mainframes connected to the line concentration box, refer to C. 8 9. Mainframe alarm output, audio input and record output 1. Connect alarm flashlight and speaker onto the ALM and COM connecting terminals at the rear of the mainframe. In case of the extension calling the mainframe, the alarm indicator light blinks, and the speaker will flash and give an alarm. 2. Input audio signals (for example, audio signal output of recorder and player, CD, MP3 and CD) from the music and com connecting terminals at the rear of the mainframe to serve as playing background music. 3. Connect recording equipment (LB-PT is recommended) to the REC and COM connecting terminals of the mainframe to record the talk between the extension and mainframe. Mainframe to failing extension check Connect the wires and be sure there is no error after check. Turn on the power of the mainframe, and the mainframe will automatically detect extensions. The mainframe checks extensions one by one from extension 1, the extension is normal, and the indicator light blinks once, if there is any extension wrong or the channel is not connected with an extension, the corresponding routing indicator light will turn green and hold, after all 30/60 channels of extensions are checked, the green indicator light maintains for five seconds before going out (please record the code for the green indicator light, manual selection is available for the extension routing switch on the mainframe, if the extension cannot be chosen, it means that there is something wrong. Shut down the device and recheck). After check, the mainframe will automatically recover to the standby status. B. Mainframe to display check After the mainframe is started up, the dot matrix display displays year, month, date, time and 'Please keep quiet!' System installation illustration 4. System setup This device has done the following setup before delivery. 1. Automatic running of system date and time, without requiring additional setup. 2. All nursing levels of extensions are set to 1. 3. The mainframe's level is 01, four panes of volume for the day, two panes for volume at night, and four panes for hands free talk volume. 4. The startup alarm time is 00:00 (note: this function setup is not activated), and the mainframe forwarding upward is 240 seconds. To modify it, please follow the following steps: Usage of function key There are four function keys from left to right on the mainframe panel, namely, power switch, broadcast key/ key, monitoring key/ key, and function key. The function setup of the mainframe is mainly fulfilled by , , and function keys. In the setup status, press or one time, and one digit will increase or decrease; at the same time, the LCD will display different Chinese characters to prompt the functions of the three keys in different statuses. To remove the special nursing setup for an extension, just select the routing switch of the channel in the special nursing setup status. 3. To remove the high level nursing setup for an extension, just select the routing switch of the channel in the special nursing setup status. 4. Common level setup The mainframe regards all extensions as in common nursing levels by default, and users are not supposed to do other settings. When the same extension is configured with multiple nursing levels, the mainframe regards the extension as the highest level of setup. 12 5. Extension calling mainframe Press down the Call/Release key of the extension or the Call key of the handheld caller. At the time, the extension call indicator light turns red. At the same time, the corresponding routing indicator light of the mainframe turns red, the LCD displays the calling extension number and nursing level, and there is music prompt from the mainframe. At the time, there will be a voice announcement of 'XX calling' at an interval of 10 seconds. Select the routing switch of the extension on the mainframe, the melody stops, the routing indicator light of the channel turns green. At the same time, the intercom indicator light of the extension blinks, the voice of the extension can be heard from the mainframe, or, pick up the mainframe microphone to perform duplex talk with the extension. At the time, if there is another extension calling, the door lamp outside the ward blinks, and the corresponding extension routing indicator light on the mainframe turns red. However, 'XX calling' will be still broadcast at an interval of ten seconds, until nursing personnel press down the channel's routing switch, then, the routing indicator light of the channel turns green, the door lamp outside the ward goes out. When an extension calls the mainframe and there is no response from the mainframe, and there is no multi-level management, the mainframe will automatically save the extension number, and the corresponding extension routing switch indicator light blinks; in case of multi-level management, after 30 seconds (the time is adjustable) call by the extension, the call will be automatically forward the call to a higher level of management mainframe (the system has a maximum of four levels of management). 2. When a special nursing extension, a high level extension and a common extension call the mainframe at the same time, the corresponding routing indicator light on the mainframe will turn red and blink, at the same time, there will be melody prompt, and there are respectively three kinds of voice broadcast, namely, 'XX special nursing calling', 'XX emergency calling', and 'XX calling'. 3. When an extension calls the mainframe, to release the call from the extension, you can just once again press down the extension's call/release key or handheld caller's Call key to release the call by the extension to the mainframe. Mainframe calling extension Directly press down the extension's routing switch for intercom, or directly pick up the mainframe's microphone, then press down the routing switch of the extension, and the corresponding extension indicator light on the mainframe will turn green. At the time, people on duty can listen to the voice of the extension, or pick up the microphone to do duplex intercom with the extension. 3. Playing broadcast Input audio signals from COM and MUSIC terminals, press down the Broadcast key on the mainframe, and all extension indicator lights will turn green. At the time, directly perform broadcast or play background music. The mainframe's LCD will display 'Broadcast status... ' (to realize broadcast function, an additional two-core wire is required for connection with outside power supply). At the time, if there is an extension calling, the corresponding routing indicator light will turn red and green, blink, and there will be a voice announcement for calling extension number. 4. Group call In case of group call, a maximum of five channels of extensions can be chosen at the same time for group call. Every five channels form one group (namely, 1-5, 6-10, 11-15... as one group). To call a group in group call, press down the first channel of routing switch of the group (for example, 1, 6 and 11... ). After about two seconds, extensions of the group will be chosen at the same time, the corresponding routing switch indicator lights turn green. At the time, the mainframe is able to talk with all chosen extensions. To end the talk, press down channel one routing switch of the group (for example, 1, 6, 11... ), and wait for about two seconds. 16 6. Matters for attention 1. Mainframe To be free from system faults, avoid using the product in places with major humidity and temperature fluctuation, direct blow by cool and warm wind, and excessive dust. The duration after each time of power on and off shall be more than one minute, especially in the talk status or extension call status. Shutdown during talk is strictly forbidden. Power sockets shall be securely grounded, with secure sockets. Please unplug the power plug in case of long time of disuse. In case of startup with a long time of interval, be sure that the internal clock is in compliance with the current time. If there is any smoke, foreign smell and other abnormal situations with the mainframe, immediately power off, check and troubleshoot it. Corridor display, wireless transmitter, wireless receiver, transfusion alarming device, and portal light are optional, and customers can choose to install them or not according to needs. Patients are able to use a handheld caller for calling and intercom. When special nursing extensions, high grade extensions and common extensions call the mainframe at the same time, the mainframe will only broadcast the special nursing extension number. The extension can serve as a broadcasting device. To realize broadcast and transfusion alarming, an additional two-core wire shall be connected to external power supply. When the number of extensions is within 30, an additional power supply is required; when the number of extensions is over 30, two additional power supplies are required. 3. Corridor display The corridor display is usually installed inside the corridor to facilitate nursing personnel in observation. Avoid using the product under sunshine or other strong light sources, which may otherwise affect the display effect.
