Introduction CYP are proud to introduce our new range of PUMA HDBaseT™ Solutions with an array of impressive new features including 3Play™ and 5Play™ HDBaseT™ convergence. 5Play™, the cornerstone of HDBaseT™ technology, is an unrivalled feature-set that converges full uncompressed HD video, audio, 100BaseT Ethernet, Power over Ethernet (PoE) and various control signals through a single 80m/262ft CAT5e cable or 100m/328ft on CAT6 cable. This advanced technology allows the user to distribute uncompressed HDMI, 2-Way IR, 2-Way RS-232, PoE and individual LAN connections over a Single CAT5e/6 cable. The range incorporates a selection of point-to-point HDMI over single CAT5e/6 extender sets such as the PU-506-KIT which includes 3Play™ (no PoE and LAN), delivering the most cost effective HDBaseT™ solution to the installation market. The flagship 8x8 HDBaseT™ Matrix enables switching and distribution of up to 8 HDMI sources over single CAT5e/6 cable infrastructure allowing confident integration into an eight zone multi-room AV system. HDBaseT™ technology enables a network of sources, such as digital video recorders (DVR), Blu-ray disc players, game consoles, PCs and mobile devices, to be connected directly to displays in multiple locations. For instance, a DVR can be connected to several TVs throughout the home, allowing users an independent yet fully compatible experience. The in-built LAN-based technology also makes it possible to cut down on the assortment of cables for audio, video, CE device connectors and even the power source. This form of networking, whether it is done point-to-point, by daisy chaining devices or through star topology, can be applied in both the consumer home and in B2B cases such as digital signage networking.
5Play™ Convergence Video and audio HDBaseT™ supports TV and PC video formats including standard, enhanced, high-definition and 3D video, and also supports all standard audio formats. HDBaseT™ delivers Full HD/3D and 2K/4K uncompressed video to a network of devices or as a point-to-point connection. Uncompressed content supports all video sources, including legacy products, accurately renders gaming graphics and features such as electronic program guides (EPGs), and does not degrade video quality or add latency. 100BaseT Ethernet HDBaseT™ supports 100Mb Ethernet capabilities, enabling televisions, hi-fi equipment, computers and other CE devices to communicate with each other and access multimedia content, including video, pictures and music stored around the house. Power over Ethernet (PoE) cable Sending power over the same CAT5e/6 cable gives people the option to forego plugging devices into the wall outlet for power, allowing greater mobility. CYP utilise this technology and use HDBaseT’s PoE feature to power our receiver units. Various control signals HDBaseT™ delivers different types of control signals for different purposes, starting from CEC, to RS232/USB and IR that operate remote equipment even when located in a different room. The Technology HDBaseT™ uses an asymmetric method, sending video, audio, Ethernet and controls from source to sink, but only 100Mb are transferred back (Ethernet and controls). Unlike conventional data communication which is a symmetrical application by nature, requiring a Bit Error Rate (BER) of at least 10 to the minus 12, the asymmetric nature of HDBaseT™ is based on an innovative DSP engine and an AFE (Application Front End) architecture. A special line coding scheme was developed to provide a better transfer quality to some kinds of data (audio, controls, Ethernet) without the need to ‘pay’ the protecting overhead for the video content which consumes most of the bandwidth.

With the potential for use with any standard 8 HDMI output matrix or distribution amplifier, this solution can work with any matrix/DA to add 8 HDBaseT outputs with only a single power supply. This device has the added functionality of an in-built 8x8 Infra Red matrix system which allows for two-way control of the sources and screens. This transmitter solution can provide Power over Ethernet (PoE) to the receiver unit adding additional integration benefits.
