PalCONN, the Interconnect Division of PalPilot, offers HDMI and DVI Connectors HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is a compact Audio/Video interface for transmitting uncompressed digital data. It represents a digital alternative to consumer analog standards. HDMI is electrically compatible with the signals used by DVI.
There are five HDMI connector types. Type A and B are defined by 1.0 spec. DVI connectors on a device typically Type C is defined by 1.3 spec. DVI (Digital Visual Interface) is designed for carrying uncompressed digital video data to a display. DVI is mostly compatible with HDMI. The difference is that DVI typically carries no audio data in its TMDS channel. DVI is the only widespread video standard that includes analog and digital transmission options in the same connector.
