HDMI Hybrid Active Optical Cable Description HDMI AOC can extend High Speed HDMI transmissions distance up to 100m with a hybrid cable. It consists of multimode fibres and copper wires. Fibres are responsible for transmitting R, G, B and Clock signal. Copper wires transmit control signal and power (without Ethernet and Audio Return Channel). At the both ends of the cable is standard HDMI Type A male plugs. One side is a transmitter connected to the source devices (ex. Blu-ray DVD player, PC, Set-Top-Box, camera and so on) and the other side is a receiver connected to the sink devices (ex. HDTV, monitor, projector and etc.). Over mould dimensions fits HDMI Type A plug requirements (Size: 58.2 x 20.8 x 11.4mm). The most benefits of the optical fibre are great transmission bandwidth, low power consumption and immune to the environmental signal noise. It is suitable for high speed, high quality and long distance multimedia transmission applications or systems.
