SAFETY and caution Please read these instructions carefully to familiarize yourself with the features and operation of this unit before using.
IMPORTANT This scale is NOT intended to be used by pregnant women. The result is inaccurate and possible effects on the fetus are unknown.
INTENDED USE This scale is intended to measure body weight and impedance, and to estimate the percentage of body fat, body water, bone mass and muscle mass using BIA (Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis). It is intended for use by healthy children (1017 years old) and healthy adults for body composition assessment in the home environment. For body fat and body water estimates, always estimate in bare feet. IMPORTANT: Although the BIA method uses a safe, low level of electrical current, users with pacemakers or other electric medical devices or implants should not operate this scale.

Battery precautions • Dispose of old batteries properly. Do not dispose of old batteries in a fire. • D o not leave batteries lying around where a young child or pet could play with or swallow them. If the batteries are swallowed, contact a physician immediately. • B atteries may explode if mistreated. Do not attempt to recharge or disassemble the batteries. • U se only fresh batteries of required size and type. Do not mix old and new batteries, different types of batteries, or rechargeable batteries of different capacities.
Special Note on Body Composition Analysis This scale uses bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) technology to calculate body fat %. This technology works by measuring the resistance (impedance) of small electrical currents through your body. When the user’s height and body impedance are known, the scale can accurately determine total body water (TBW) and fat-free mass (FFM). Fat-free mass is then subtracted from your total body weight to obtain your body fat mass. This scale should be used while barefoot. Measurement errors can occur if weighing while wearing socks or nylon stockings. To avoid slipping, do not step on the scale with wet feet. Do not use the scale on carpet.

Turning the Scale On and Off This scale has an Auto-On and Auto-Off feature. The scale will automatically turn on when the user steps on the platform and automatically turn off after the user steps off the platform. This scale is ready to weigh, and does not require tapping first before stepping on the scale.
Changing Weighing Units To change the current weighing unit, use the “kg/st/lb” button on the bottom side of the scale. Notice the display will change between kg, st:lb, and lb with each button press. The setting will only blink once.

Entering Personal Data Before you can use this scale’s body composition features (such as body fat), you must enter your personal data. The scale can remember personal data for up to 8 different users. 1. Press the SET button to enter setup mode. 2. P1 will flash in the lower left on the display. and buttons to choose a P number for each user 3. U se the (between 1 and 8) and press SET to confirm. 4. The display will then prompt you to select your body physique. Use the and buttons to choose the icon that corresponds with your personal body physique (female, male, female athlete, male athlete) and press SET to confirm. and 5. T he display will then prompt you to select your height. Use the buttons to change the height in half-inch increments and press SET to confirm. 6. T he display will prompt you to select your age. Use the to change the number and press SET to confirm.

Weighing and Analyzing Without entering personal data: 1. S tep onto the scale to activate the Auto-On feature, making sure your bare feet are resting on the metal strips on the left and right of the scale platform. 2. If the user is not automatically recognized, only the body weight information is displayed. The number will be displayed for 6 seconds. The scale will then turn off automatically.
With personal data entered: 1. S tep onto the scale to activate the Auto-On feature, making sure your bare feet are resting on the metal strips on the left and right of the scale platform. 2. T he scale should automatically recognize the user and display their User ID (for example, P1). 3. A fter the User ID is confirmed, the body composition data, such as body fat, water, muscle and bone, is displayed. The information will display for a total of 20 seconds. The scale will then turn off automatically.
