FI Sales, LLC 761 N. 17th St, #17 Saint Charles, IL 60174 Instructions to add "No Plumbing" kit to Protec Optimax - 11-23-09 This document describes how to install and use the "No Plumbing" kit you purchased for use on the Protec Optimax processor. Follow these instructions carefully as failure to do so could result in damage to the Optimax processor. Use only pumps and tubing as supplied by FI Sales as substitutions could result in damage to the Optimax processor. Never install a drain line with the end below water/fluid level in a drain or tank as doing so could result in damage to the Optimax processor. There are 8 hose connections exiting the Optimax processor. For a "No Plumbing" configuration, connect using the diagram below. 1 2 3 Developer Developer Developer Repl. Overflow Drain In Out Out

Refer to the diagram above as you read the instructions below. WARNING: Should you ever want to hook your OPTIMAX processor to a water supply sometime in the future, then the water solenoid valve must be disconnected before using as a "No Plumbing" processor. Remove the service panel on the bottom of the processor and disconnect one of the electrical connections from the water solenoid valve. Cover the removed wire connection with electrical tape and replace the service panel. Steps Instructions 1 Refer to pages 9 & 10 in the manual for the plumbing connections. 2 Instead of putting lines 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7 into a drain, they should be routed to drain back into their respective fresh fluid tanks. NOTE: Make sure the end of lines 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7 are above fluid level in the tanks or damage could result due to an overflow inside the processor. 3 Instead of putting line 8 into a drain, connect the pump into line 8. NOTE: Do not use any other pump or tubing except as supplied with the processor or damage could result due to an overflow inside the processor. 4 Fill the tanks with their respective fluids below the level of the drain lines in each tank. 5 You will not connect the water supply hose supplied with the Optimax. However, save it in case you ever want to run the processor with a fresh water supply. 6 When you want water circulating through the processor, plug the pump in. Wait about 5 minutes before running a film after plugging in the pump. Remember to unplug the pump at the end of the day. The water will drain back into the No Plumbing Kit. TIP: Change the water tank weekly. TIP: You will be draining used chemicals into your fresh chemical supplies which will negatively impact your film quality more rapidly than if you drained the used chemicals into a separate container.
