HiKE1394CamView Operation manual The operation method of viewer software "HiKE1394Camview.exe" contained in CD-ROM is explained. 1. Connection When software is started, initial screen (Figure 1) appears. Select "Camera"-"Connect"-"New" from menu or push an icon . Then a dialog box (Figure 2) appears and select camera, decides ring-buffer memory capacity, and set output format and push "OK" button.

Figure 2 2. Basic screen When connection is successful, screen size is changed to setting size and live image is start Figure 3 shows the screen when setting KP-FD140F at VGA RGB24bit, 15fps. Name of connected camera and setting mode are written on title bar. And frame rate, RGB information of the position pointed by mouse, and cycle time information are written on status bar.
Figure 3 3. Menu bar The Menu have following items. ・Camera : Menu related to connection of the camera - Connect : Camera connection - New : New connection ( on tool bar) - Recent : Latest connection - Release : Disconnection ( on tool bar) ・Control : Menu related to control of the camera - Start : Live start ( on tool bar UP key) - Stop : Live stop ( on tool bar or DOWN key) - One Shot : Grab 1 frame ( on tool bar or SPACE key) - Next : Forward ring-buffer by 1 frame (RIGHT key) - Preview : Back ring-buffer by 1 frame (LEFT key) - Parameters : Open the dialog box of control of camera parameters ( on tool bar) - Manual Command : Open the dialog box of manual command input - Time stamp : Time stamp ON/OFF. Display the cycle time (0 to 128 seconds) from power ON on status bar ( on tool bar) on tool bar) Time stamp OFF ( - Cycle timer : Cycle timer on/off. Synchronize to cycle timer in same bus. ・Bayer : Use for Bayer mode - Color : Change color - Mono : Change monochrome (raw data)

4. The Dialog box of control of camera parameters When select "Control" --> "Parameters" of menu, the Dialog box of control of camera parameters appear. 3 main setting are selected by tab control. These are explained at following. See Figure 5. ・MEMORY LOAD : All setting can be loaded from 4 memory of camera. - PRESET : All setting is initialized. ・MEMORY SAVE : All setting can be saved at 4 memory of camera 4-1. BASIC Basic setting (1) BRIGHTNESS : Adjust master black level (M. BLACK) (2) SHARPNESS : Adjust sharpness level (object contour correction) (3) WHITE BALANCE : Adjust white balance ・MANUAL : Mode of manual adjustment or running AWB White balance is adjusted automatically by AWB or manually by R and B gain. ・AUTO : White balance is adjusted in real time (automatic tracking). An effective function when the scene is subject to changes in color temperature of the light source. ・AWB : Run One Push Auto White Balance. State for automatic white balance adjustment. ・R/B GAIN : Adjust Gain of R-channel and B-channel. (4) GAIN : Electrical sensitivity is adjusted. ・AUTO : Gain is automatically adjusted in response to light source brightness. ・MANUAL : Mode of manual adjustment gain (5) SHUTTER : Set electronic shutter speed ・MANUAL : Electronic shutter speed can be set manually in range of 9.96 to 1/100,000 second ・OFF : Switch off shutter operation (6) AUTO EXPOSURE LEVEL : Adjust the standard level of automatic sensitivity adjustment This is effective only when GAIN is AUTO. It is used to adjust signal level adjusted automatically more brightly or darkly. (7) GAMMA : Switch gamma correction ON/OFF

4-2. MASKING 6 vector independent masking and paint-black (Figure 6). Saturation and hue of primary colors R, G, B and complementary colors Cy, Mg, Ye can be independently varied. Color level of R, G and B can be independently varied. (1) ON/OFF Switch masking function ON/OFF. (2) SATURATION Adjust saturation of each color. (3) HUE Adjust hue of each color. (4) PAINT BLACK Adjust color level of each color. (5) RESET Both of saturation and hue are initialized (128: Saturation/Hue, 0: Color level).

4-3. TRIGGER Setting of trigger mode (Figure 6) (1) TRIGGER -MODE : Select trigger mode OFF : Trigger OFF (normal mode) FIXED : Fixed shutter mode ONE : One trigger mode RESET CONTROL : Reset control VD : VD sync -SOURCE : Select trigger source PORT1/2 : Port1 / Port2 SOFTWARE : Software trigger -POLARITY : Select trigger polarity (High / Low) -DELAY : Setting about trigger delay OFF : Trigger delay OFF ON : Trigger delay ON : Delay time -HD RESET : When trigger mode, internal counter reset ON/OFF. -READOUTPULSE: Select source and polarity of readout pulse. This is effective only when trigger mode is RESET CONTROL. (2) PORT1/PORT2: Setting about port1 and port2 STROBE OUT : Output strobe pulse VD OUT : Output internal VD signal PORT1/2 OUT : Output pulse input from port1(port2) -OUTPUT : Setting about output signal from port1 (port2) OFF : Stop output LOW : Output by LOW polarity (STROBE OUT, VD OUT). Output by not reversed polarity (PORT1/2 OUT). HIGH : Output by HIGH polarity (STROBE OUT, VD OUT). Output by reversed polarity (PORT1/2 OUT). DELAY : Set delay time of output signal (STROBE OUT, PORT1/2 OUT) DURATION : Set pulse width of output signal (STROBE OUT) (3) SOFTWARE TRIGGER SIGNAL : This is effective when trigger source is SOFTWARE * Setting value of software trigger is approximate number. So real time is varied.
-READOUT
TRIGGER : Set software trigger high time (pulse width) CYCLE TIME : Set cycle time START : Start continuous software trigger at above setting STOP : Stop continuous software trigger ON : Run Software trigger OFF : Stop software trigger : Setting software readout pulse. When trigger source is SOFTWARE, readout pulse can be output continuous. Set time (ms) when readout pulse is output after software trigger falling down. OUTPUT : Software readout pulse is output once. CONTINUOUS : Switch continuous output ON/OFF.

Figure 7 5. Manual command When select "Control"-"Manual Command" of menu, the dialog box that write to or read from register directly (Figure 7). When input CSR into ADDRESS LOW and push "READ", setting value is displayed on "DATA". When push "WRITE", setting value is written to camera. See operation manual pp.8-13 "Control and Status Register (CSR)" about CSR.
