In Germany: Follow VOB, Part C, DIN 18 363, section 3. New Renders/Plasters in Mortar Groups/Classes PIc (Hydraulic Lime Plaster), PII (Lime-Cement Mortars) and PIII (Cement Mortars): Allow to set for 2 to 4 weeks. Remove sintered skin with Histolith® Fluat. Uncoated Existing Renders/Plasters in Mortar Groups/Classes PIc, PII, PIII and Coats of Mineral Paint: Carefully clean the surface. Remove all coats/layers of low adherence. Apply one priming coat of Histolith® Silikat-Fixativ, thinned in ratio of 2:1 to 1:1 with tap water, to strengthen slightly sanding render/plaster surfaces. Sound/Stable Existing Coats of Matt (Flat) Emulsion Paint: Carefully clean the surface. Technical Information No. 1050 Gypsum Renders/Plasters in Mortar Group/Class PIV: Strengthen soft gypsum plasters with Histolith® Spezialgrundierung (special primer). Sand gypsum plasters with sintered skin, then remove sanding dust and apply one priming coat of Histolith® Spezialgrundierung. Gypsum Plasterboards (Sandwich-Type Plaster Boards): Sand down filling burrs. Strengthen soft filled gypsum patches with Histolith® Spezialgrundierung. For boards with water-soluble, discolouring content that leaves marks, apply one priming coat of Caparol Aqua-Sperrgrund. In Germany: Follow BFS Data Sheet No. 12. Gypsum Wallboards: Coat without pre-treatment. Concrete: Remove any existing parting agent residues. Brickwork / Brick Masonry: Carefully clean the surface. Repair defective mortar joints. Apply one priming coat of Caparol AquaSperrgrund for bricks with water-soluble, discolouring content that leaves marks. Existing Coats of Glue-Bound Distemper: Wash off (remove) thoroughly. Prime with Histolith® Spezialgrundierung (special primer). Glass Fabric Wall Coverings: Coat without pre-treatment. Mildewed Surfaces: Wash off the fungal (fungi/mildew/mould) attack. Apply Histolith® Algenentferner (algae remover) on the fully dry surface, then allow to dry again. Prior consultation with our technical assistance is needed to achieve the correct surface coating system. Method of Application Surface Coating System Consumption Application Conditions Drying/Drying Time Tool Cleaning Histolith® Weißgrund can be applied by paint brush, roller or airless spraying equipment. Application: Undiluted or thinned to a max. of 3 % with tap (potable) water. Approx. 150 - 200 ml/m² on an even substrate. On rough-textured surfaces correspondingly more. The exact consumption is best established by a trial coating (test area) on site. Lower Temperature Limit for Application and Drying: +8 °C for product, substrate and ambient air. At +20 °C and 65 % relative humidity surface-dry after 4 - 6 hours and recoatable after 12 hours. Lower temperatures and higher humidity extend the drying time. Clean tools/equipment immediately after use with water. Advice Please Note (Status as at Date of Publication) Keep out of reach of children. Avoid release to the environment. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of soap and water. Further information: See Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
