When making a choice between our HK, DK or TK products, it is important to keep a number of key parameters in mind:
To estimate the discharge depth, simply compare the capacity of the machine with the machine’s expected application. Example: for a street cleaning machine with a capacity of 2000m2 and a car park covering of 1000m2, the discharge depth is 50%. It is important to note that other criteria, such as correct maintenance and temperature, also have a substantial impact on life expectancy but these have been disregarded in the graphs. The graphs are only for advisory purposes and do not express or imply a guarantee.
Dimensions: Not all models are available in the three versions (HK-DK-TK). The space available in the machine may therefore determine the battery type. For this reason always check the dimensions first. Intensity: When a particular model is available in more than product version (HK-DK-TK) the choice will depend on the intensity of battery use. HK versions are meant for low intensity use, DK for moderate intensity, and TK for high intensity use. Budget: By referring to the charts you can select a battery that conforms to your expectations regarding battery life. This helps you to make the choice that gives you the best return on investment. HK DK TK THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN FLAT PLATES AND TUBULAR PLATES What are the technical differences between flat and tubular plates? Motive power applications usually use tubular plate batteries, in particular for highly intensive use and/or shift working. Compared to flat plates the energy they deliver is more constant and reliable. Their greater productivity and longer operational availability with fewer battery changes is the result of a design that makes more room for energy and extended life time.
Batteries with tubular and flat plates contain the same basic components: JJ a positive electrode (or plate) JJ a negative electrode (or plate) JJ electrolyte in which the plates are immersed (a dilute solution of sulphuric acid) The difference between the two technologies lies in the design of the positive plate: JJ A tubular plate consists of little tubes with a lead core encapsulated in an inactive porous sheath of polyester. The sheathes are filled with the positive active material, which presses firmly against the lead cores. JJ A flat positive plate is a lead grid into which a wet mix of active material has been spread. These differences have a limited impact on performance and maintenance.
