HL9410 Datasheet Revision 1.2.1 Applications for the HL9410 • Pulse polarity inversion • Data inversion for PRBS generators © 2013 HYPERLABS INC. www.hyperlabsinc.com HYPERLABS HL9410 Datasheet (page 2) HL9410 Frequency Domain Measurements HL9410 Time Domain Measurements In Figure 3 below, the insertion loss on the RF Output of the HL9402 is measured from 10 MHz to 20 GHz. The vertical axis is dB (0 to -10). In Figure 5, the HL9410 has been used to invert a pulse*. The original pulse is shown in red, and the inversion is yellow. The HL9410 inverts the polarity of the pulse, preserves the risetime and falltime, and changes the amplitude by approximately 2 dB. Figure 3: Insertion Loss Measurement on the RF Output of the HL9410 Figure 4 shows the return loss on the RF Input of the HL9410 from 5 MHz to 20 GHz. The vertical axis is dB (0 to -40). Figure 5: HL9410 Time Domain Measurement *The initial pulse was generated using a Tektronix TDS8000 Digital Sampling Oscilloscope with a 80E04 TDR Head. The 17 ps risetime step was passed through a 70 ps wide pulse former. The resulting pulse has a risetime and falltime of approximately 20 ps, and an amplitude of around 120 mV. In Figure 6, the insertion delay of the HL9410 is measured to be 272.0 ps. The red trace shows the input, while the yellow trace is the output.
