HomePlug Direct-to-Speakertm Internet Radio With the GigaFast Direct-to-Speakertm Internet Radio, Internet Radio can be received directly and outputted onto a speaker or audio system via HomePlug technology without the use of a personal computer. The PE881-IR acts like a “bridge” between the digital music programming and stereo receiver or powered speakers. Using the PE881-IR in product form or as a module, Internet Music can be synchronized to play throughout the home. Additional features like the support for an IR remote allow users to choose which Internet Radio Station they would like to stream. Units may be switched to play only left or only right channel audio to create a multi-location stereo effect that allows the audio to fill a space without installing any new wires. As a module, the PE881-IR can be integrated with an existing speaker system and designed to provide a customized LCD display that can display station name and current song, directly from the box. Station presets are made via a web interface accessed from any HomePlug connected web device.
