The items should be placed next to your recycling container(s) with other paper, plastic, metal, and glass recyclables on your collection day. Plastic bags and plastic film are no longer accepted in the curbside recycling program. Return bags to a local grocery store or County Recycling Center for recycling. Always put containers out before 6:00 am on your collection day. 2. Keep recycling, yard waste, and trash containers separated so they are easy to identify. 3. Always call 410-222-6100 to schedule collection of bulky metal items. 4. Keep TRASH and YARD WASTE containers to 40 lbs. or less. 5. Do not put containers in front of your mailbox or behind parked vehicles. 6. If you move, leave your recycling cart at your old home for the next resident to use. PORTANT IM Regular collection ! Yard waste • Put leaves, brush, branches and grass clippings in a standard kraft paper yard waste bag or container marked with an “X”. • Tree limbs and branches can not exceed 4 ft. length or 4 in. diameter. • Branches must be tied into bundles or containerized. • Free compost bins are available from the county. • Natural Christmas trees, wreaths, and garland are accepted. Remove all lights, ornaments, and bags. Cut tall trees in half. • Do not use yellow recycling containers for yard waste. Trash • Place trash in bags, tie or seal bags completely, and place sealed bags in trash container. •  Do not put trash inside cardboard boxes. All cardboard is collected as recycling. • Containers must be placed curbside for collection before 6:00 am the day of collection and removed by midnight that same day. Accepted for recycling PAPER  newspapers, junk mail, catalogs, pizza boxes, food boxes, books, cardboard, paper egg cartons, milk and juice cartons, juice boxes, shredded paper, empty paper towel or toilet paper holders. PLASTIC  bottles (drink, shampoo, detergent, spray, sunscreen), butter tubs, yogurt or fruit containers, cups and plates, flower pots, furniture, lawn furniture, buckets, toys, pools, and playsets.          METAL  aluminum foil, pans, cans, empty aerosol cans, and food cans. GLASS  bottles and jars of any color Put all recyclables loose and unbagged in the same container • No plastic bags•  No sorting or rinsing required • Leave lids & labels on not accepted at the Curb BOOST Your RECYCLING The following materials are not collected at your home because of special handling requirements. For disposal information visit us online at www.aacounty.org/departments/public-works/waste-management/ Materials-Accepted • Place a recycling container next to each trash can in your home,   in the office, bathroom, kitchen, and laundry room. • Recycle even more items at our Recycling Centers such as oil,    computers, electronics, antifreeze, appliances, scrap metal, car    and marine batteries, clothing and textiles, and rubble. •  Ammunition or firearms •  Explosives or fireworks •  Asbestos items •  Fluorescent tubes or bulbs •  Automotive parts •  Liquids •  Building or construction materials •  Paint •  Coals or ashes •  Poisons, acids, or caustics •  Compressed gas tanks •  Sawdust or dirt DONATE  There are many charitable organizations that accept •  Dead animals or animal carcasses •  Tires •  Drums, fuel or oil tanks •  Wood or lumber clothing, furniture, toys, kitchen appliances, tools, and other items in good condition.
