How Does Zortrax M200 Work? The whole 3D printing system consists of: Zortrax M200, the material and the software. The M200 prints with thermoplastic materials in LPD technology (Layer Plastic Deposition). One type of material is used for printing both the model and the reinforcement material (support). And the model with the support structure is printed with the same extruder (Single Extruder Support). The extruder also prints Dual Raft Surface (DRS). The printer environment
How Does it Work? Preparing a model Work with the model can be initiated in any 3D program of your choice. This program should be able to create 3D graphics and support .stl and .obj file formats. The next step is to export the CAD file to this format.
Z-Suite Software Z-Suite is an appliction which prepares 3D models for printing. It adjusts the actual parameters of the model, such as: size, layer thickness or generating reinforcement material (support). Z-Suite prepares the model by generating a project and saving it in .zcode format. The project is then ready to be printed using the Zortrax M200 3D printer.
Transferring the Model In order to export the model to the printer, save the .zcode file generated in Z-Suite onto an SD card and insert it into the SD card reader in the printer.

Loading the Material Use printing materials from Z-Filament Series, such as Z-ABS and Z-ULTRAT, Z-HIPS and Z-GLASS, available in several color options.
Initiating the Printing Process Printing is initiated after selecting a model from the SD card. The display will show the printer's menu and a file catalog; turn the know to choose a file. Once the file is chosen, pushing the know starts the printing process.
M200 Printer Environment
Z- SUITE SOFTWARE INSTALLATION You need a model in .stl, .obj or .dxf format to print on Zortrax M200 3D printer. Most CAD and 3D modeling software allows you to convert 3D files into a .stl or an .obj format. To prepare a file for 3D printing (in the .zcode format), install the Z-Suite Software on your computer. The latest version is available to download in the Downloads section. To install Z-Suite Software, you need your printer’s serial number. Z- FIRMWARE UPDATE It is important to have the latest version of the firmware to enjoy the highest print quality. Whenever a new version is available, update your printer’s firmware. All news about Z-Suite can be found on Support Center. You can also subscribe to the Newsletter – to be up-to-date with all the updates. The latest version of Z-Firmware is available to download from Support Center. To update the firmware, save its latest version on the SD Card (update.bin file), insert the SD Card into the printer and run the device. Z-Firmware will be automatically updated.
