How to 3D Print What can I do with the Cubicon + 3D printer?    Print an object from existing 3D models Create and print your own OBJ or STL file Use the 3D scanner to create a model from an object Print from a database of models      There are 1000s of free ideas to choose from Open a web browser and go to www.thingiverse.com Search for a model to print Select the Things Files tab to view the model files Select a file to download by clicking on the file title Design your own model  Design your own object at the library or work on it at home. Some free design software include: Tinkercad, Fusion 360, OpenSCAD etc Prepare your model for printing  Open “Cubicreator” software to prepare your model for 3D printing.  Look for this icon. Cubicreator is free software available for home use    Select the Open (file folder) icon on the top menu OR Select File> Load Find your file and select Open Use the tools below to optimize your model o Scale: Adjust the scale options on the left hand menu to resize your model o Rotate: Use the colored lines around the model to rotate the model o Transform: Use the colored handles around the model to change the dimensions of the model o Lay the model flat: Select the model and select Orient on surface on the top menu. Select the side of the model to orient to the print bed and select anywhere on the print bed   Select the 3D Printer icon to bring up the printer settings Select quick settings available from the left-hand menu o A raft or brim may need to be added for smaller models o Supports may be added for models with extreme overhangs  Select the Save GCode File button and save the file on the USB stick. When it is ready, you will see your estimated print time Bring your own USB stick or ask to use one of ours  Printing       On the touchscreen, touch the screen to wake up the printer. Select Print, File and finally USB Use the arrows to find your print job and then select Start The printer will now start warming up and preparing to print. This will take several minutes Do not touch the build plate during printing – it is hot! When your model is finished printing and the build plate cools to less than 50 degrees Celsius, open the Plexiglas door Your model will easily peel off the build plate! RULES     Print jobs must be completed during open hours You may only use one printer at a time Stay with your print for the duration of your print job Models of offensive items, weapons or weapon parts of any size are not permitted
