How to take part in the Orkney Community Digital Heritage project This is a project with Centre for Nordic Studies and community heritage groups throughout Orkney. All are welcome to take part, whether you are involved in a heritage group or not.
… or anything you wish to share, really!
How do I do it? IF YOU ARE USING YOUR OWN DEVICE START FROM HERE:
1) You need a smartphone or “tablet”, for example an iPad, Hudl, or a fairly new mobile phone such as iPhone. If you don’t have one, you can borrow one from Centre for Nordic Studies. If you don’t know how to use one, please get in touch with us and we can show you. 2) Open a web browser, such as Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Internet Explorer 3) Go to http://fieldtripgb.blogs.edina.ac.uk/download/ and press one of these:
You will then get the free “app” (programme) Fieldtrip GB. You will
need to know your own App Store password or Google Play password. This is something you set up when you first got the device1. 4) Go to “apps”. Open Fieldtrip Gb and press “OK” to the first question. You will see this:
5) Press “login” (picture of a padlock). You get to a page with two boxes, one saying email and the other password. Put in this: e-mail:
[email protected] password: Orkney 6) Click “allow” to the next question 7) Go to “home” and then “Download forms” where you will find “Orkney digital heritage” – This stores the form so you can use it even when you are offline. You are now ready to start recording your memories and stories!
