0 HOW TO SAFELY DISPOSE OF WASTE GENERAL INFORMATION ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED PICKUP DAYS RECYCLING All malerials must be placed curbside by7:00AM items in plastic bags. on the collection date. Do not place Medical waste, syringes. IV bottles, IV tubes, etc. COMMINGLEDITEMS: GLASS: only food and beverage containers made of unbroken clear, brown or green glass. METAL CONTAINERS: food and beverage containers, clean aluminum foil and trays, and empty aerosol cans. PLASTICS: PET and HOPE plastic containers (code 1 thru 7 printed on container) commonly used for food. beverages, detergents or shampoos. Light bulbs, kitchenware, crystal, mirrors & windows, paint cans, pesticide containers, oil cans, five gallon pails, foam plastic, plastic bags and flower pots. All commingled items should be rinsed, lids removed then combined in one bin or more. Metal and plastic lids and caps can be placed with your comlngled items. Labels need not be removed. EVERY WEDNESDAY EXCLUDING HOLIDAY Any container containing potentially hazardous chemicals. PAPERITEMS: Hardcover books, orange juice containers. No styrofoam or plastic packing materials. NEWSPAPERS. OUTDATED PHONE BOOKS, MAGAZINES, JUNK MAIL, BROCHURE~ CATALOGS.ADVERTISEMENT~ LETTERS & ENVELOPES: Place at curbside in the "Blue Box~, brown paper bags, or corrugated cardboard boxes. Do not bundle them with cord, twine or rope, or put them in plastic bags. CORRUGATED CARDBOARD & BROWN PAPER BAGS: Remove excessive amountsofadhesive tape, tie in bundles or break down and box. Do not place in plastic bags. Keep items dry. HOUSEHOLD GARBAGE Regular household garbage will be collected twice weekly on designated days. Please note that on holidays, garbage collection will be cancelled for that day which will result in only one pickup that week. See Schedule on reverse. Recyclables, household hazardous wastes, large items qualifying for bulky pickup BULKY WASTE Car batteries, car tires, building rna. terials, debris from construction work, bath tubs, water heaters, heating boilers, iron, steel, stones propane tanks. All pickups shall be scheduled no later than midday of the day proceeding the pick.up. Please note that payment must be received before the scheduled pickup date. Items for collection must be placed at curbside the night before or by 7:00 am the moming of the scheduled pickup. Items of Collection: Old furniture, old carpeting and padding, old books, dried open paint cans. Basically anything too heavy for regular garbage that does not qualify as a household hazardous waste. Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners (properly stickered with freon and doors removed). Computer monitors and television monitors, washers, dryers, electronic equipment.
