How To Use YOUR BearTek Gloves: Quick Start Guide Hidden Inside These Gloves Is a Revolution: ™ WIRELESS CONTROL OF YOUR MUSIC, CALLS AND MEDIA BearTek™ Gloves create a new standard in glove function - transforming your hand into a revolutionary new ‘remote control’. Inside these gloves is the patent pending Bluetooth® | Wireless Sync Module technology which is the core of the one-of-a-kind finger-touch control system, giving you access to everything you need to fully control and create your ultimate experience. The BearTek Sync Module connects to integrated touch points on the fingers of the glove and an activation touch point on the thumb. After pairing the gloves to a Bluetooth® device, you can answer phone calls or operate music player controls by simply touching your fingers - without having to take your hands away from your activity or without having to take your glove out of your pocket. HUMAN CONNECTIVITY EVOLVED Before You Ride: Practice With Your Gloves. BearTek Gloves give you freedom to control your phone and music without taking focus away from your sport. Familiarizing yourself with the finger touch-points is necessary. The more you practice, the glove's function will become natural to you. This will help keep your attention off manipulating the glove and on your sport. Your safety is important to us. Please practice before you ride. PAIRING YOUR PHONE POWER ON by pressing and holding the glove power button with the BearTek Sync Module connected. (hold for 3 seconds - you should feel a click when pressing power button). LOOK FOR A RED / BLUE LIGHT on the BearTek Sync Module. When the LED indicator is flashing blue and red - it’s ON and ready to pair. GO TO SETTINGS on your smart phone and turn Bluetooth® ON. SELECT “BearTek” from the discoverable devices. LOOK FOR A BLUE LIGHT on the BearTek Sync Module. When the module is successfully connected the LED indicator light will flash blue. CONFIRM the smartphone shows the BearTek Sync Module as "Connected." PRACTICE GUIDE DO NOT initially practice while in motion and/or with your hands engaged with handlebars or the ski poles. • Get used to the finger action. • Familiarize yourself with the lock function on the thumb. • Learn the touchpoints so you can use the gloves without referring to the guide. • Do a test call. Ask someone to call and practice unlocking and answering / declining and hanging-up a call. LED Indicator Light Flashes Red/Blue When it’s Ready to Pair Guide screens for iOS below Go To Settings Turn Bluetooth On Select “BearTek” BearTek Shows Connected LET’s Get Started. A FULL BEARTEK GLOVES KIT INCLUDES ONE PAIR OF GLOVES with at least one active hand with touchpoints along the fingers. ONE BEARTEK SYNC MODULE located in and plugged into the zipper pocket of the active glove. ONE MICRO-USB charging cable located in the zipper pocket of the inactive glove. CHARGING THE BEARTEK SYNC MODULE PLUG the provided micro-USB cord into sync module and connect with a USB Power adaptor or computer. Note: The BearTek Module can be charged while connected or disconnected from the gloves. POWER CONSUMPTION AND MAINTENANCE The BearTek Module is NOT delivered with a full charge. Once fully charged the BearTek Module has up to 80 hours of battery life. To maintain optimal battery life you should turn your module off at the end of use. Simply hold the power button down for 5 seconds until the module shows no more blinking lights. LED Indicator Light Flashes Blue When Pairing is Complete GUIDE TO YOUR GLOVE CONTROLS. Use the one-of-a-kind control system: A THUMB PAD and built-in FINGER TOUCHPOINTS allow you to answer / decline calls and control music LOCK / UNLOCK The glove is designed to lock after 10 seconds of inactivity to avoid accidental actions. Remember to tap the power button before each action if there has been a delay in activity. At any time, simply tap the power button to manually ‘lock’ the glove. SKIP TRACK: BACK ANSWER/DECLINE CALL HOLD: REWIND SKIP TRACK: FORWARD HOLD: FAST FORWARD PLAY / PAUSE MUSIC ANSWER/DECLINE CALLS When a call comes in: CHECK to be sure the glove is "unlocked" by briefly pushing the power button (you should feel a click). ANSWER by tapping and releasing the thumb pad to top index finger touch-point once. Note: There may be a several second delay to hear audio after a call is answered. DO NOT press the touchpoint again or you will actually hang up the call. POWER ON / OFF DECLINE the call by by holding the thumb pad to the top index ENABLE / UNLOCK touch point for 2 seconds. HANG UP an ongoing call by tapping the thumb pad to the top index touchpoint once. CONTROLLING MUSIC SELECT your favorite music app on your smartphone. START a playlist on your smartphone. CHECK to be sure the glove is "unlocked" by briefly pushing the power button (you should feel a click). PLAY / PAUSE by tapping thumb pad to top touchpoint on index finger. SKIP TRACK FORWARD by tapping thumb pad to top touchpoint on middle finger. FAST FORWARD press and hold thumb pad to top touch point on middle finger until you hear track fast forwarding. Release when finished. SKIP TRACK BACK by tapping thumb pad to bottom touchpoint on middle finger. REWIND press and hold thumb pad to bottom touchpoint on middle finger until you hear track rewinding. Release when finished. The BearTek Sync Module shown connected to the plug inside the cuff zipper pocket located in different positions depending on glove style. POWER ON/OFF CONNECT charged module to the connection inside the glove cuff's zipper pocket. PRESS AND HOLD the ON/OFF power button on the thumb for 3 seconds until the LED indicator light on the BearTek Sync Module starts flashing blue and red. When powering off, simply hold down the power button for five seconds until the module shows no more blinking lights. Note: If the light doesn't power on, the sync module needs further charging. ON / UNPAIRED LED Indicator will flash red and blue. ON / PAIRED LED Indicator will flash blue. HIGH ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES: This device is not intended for use • Keep your BearTek Gloves and Bluetooth Module and accessories out of the reach of children and pets. • Maintain your BearTek Gloves in dry conditions and keep it within normal operating temperatures. It may be damaged at temperatures higher than 55°C/131°F or lower than -20°C/-4°F. • Do not dry your BearTek Gloves and Bluetooth Module in a microwave oven. Sparks may occur and cause an explosion or fire. • Do not use or store your BearTek Gloves and Bluetooth Module in dusty, dirty areas. • Do not disassemble your BearTek Gloves’ Bluetooth Module. Do not attempt to replace rechargeable battery in BearTek Gloves’ Module yourself. • Do not drop or cause severe impact to your BearTek Gloves and Bluetooth Module. • Do not clean your BearTek Gloves and Bluetooth Module with cleaning solvents or detergents, other than as recommended by the manufacturer. • Contact customer service immediately if your BearTek Gloves and Bluetooth Module does not work properly. • Use only the Li-ion batteries, and USB Connector provided. Any malfunction or damage caused by the use of unauthorized batteries, battery chargers and USB connector will void the limited product warranty, and potentially cause a hazardous situation by overheating the device or other safety concerns. • Ensure that the battery, USB Connector, and BearTek Module connector do not come in contact with conductive objects. • For optimal performance, use cases and accessories that do not contain magnets. Return policy is intended to create deliriously happy customers – simple & easy VOLUME CONTROL HAZARDS: Failure to properly control the volume WARRANTY: BearTek Gloves and Bluetooth Module is warrantied for manufacturer defects for 1 year from point of order. This device is intended for outdoor use, but issues such as rips, tears, scratches, battered components, forcefully opened components, damage from water/moisture, etc. are not covered under this warranty. Although BearTek™ Gloves are designed, tested, and manufactured to comply with regulations governing radio frequency emissions, such emissions from the BearTek™ Gloves’ Bluetooth Module can negatively affect the operation of other electronics, causing them to malfunction. Turn off the BearTek™ Gloves’ Bluetooth Module when use is prohibited, such as when asked to do so by authorities. Always consult with the medical equipment’s manufacturer or an expert regarding device or phone use near any medical equipment. MEDICAL DEVICES: Transmissions from the BearTek™ Gloves’ Bluetooth Module may interfere with pacemakers, defibrillators or other medical devices. Prior to use of your BearTek™ Gloves’ Bluetooth Module, if you wear a pacemaker or other medical electronic device, consult with your health-care provider about the use of such electronic devices and their potential effects on your pacemaker or other medical device. Maintain at least 6 inches (approximately 15 cm) of separation between your pacemaker and BearTek™ Gloves’ Bluetooth Module. If you suspect that the BearTek™ Gloves’ Module is interfering with your pacemaker, defibrillator, or any other medical device, stop using your BearTek™ Gloves’ Bluetooth Module IMMEDIATELY and consult your physician for information specific to your medical device. EXPLOSIVE ATMOSPHERE: Do not charge or use your BearTek™ Gloves and Bluetooth Module in any area with a potentially explosive atmosphere, such as at a gas station, fueling area, or in areas where the air contains chemicals or particles (such as grain, dust, or metal powders). Do not insert or remove the device battery in such areas. Obey all posted signs and instructions. CHOKING HAZARD: Some BearTek™ Gloves accessories may present a choking hazard to small children. Keep the gloves, the Bluetooth Module and these accessories away from small children. CARE AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONS: • Do not submerge your BearTek Gloves and Bluetooth Module as electronic components are included in the glove • BearTek Gloves and Bluetooth Module may get wet (even in rain), but should be properly air-dried immediately after use (do not put in oven or use any other heated drying mechanism). Failure to allow proper air-drying could result in the appearance of rust at the touch points. – Note that gloves still work even when rusting of touchpads is visible. • Contact customer service at (+1) 888-892-4543 or internationally at(+1) 972-584-1299 by phone or via email at [email protected] with any technical/use questions. If question can’t be resolved over phone/email, the customer will be issued return authorization/instructions. • Shipping costs are at the cost of the customer. However, customer will be credited for shipping if the product was damaged or defective upon receipt, or the wrong item was shipped. Please include the shipping receipt in your return package to ensure proper credit. • Replacements for defective product will be provided during warranty terms with like product. We only say “like product” because the exact model may no longer be in stock or “like new” refurbished product may be provided. • Obviously we will take care of the cost of shipping product back to customer for replacements. Customer will be credited for shipping if the product was damaged or defective upon receipt. Please include the shipping receipt in your return package to ensure proper credit. • Product will be shipped out within 7 days of return receipt of original product. • Replacements for non-defective product (including improper shipments) will be offered within 30 days from original order. Shipping costs to/from manufacturer will be at the cost of the customer. You will be credited for shipping if the product was damaged, defective, or improper upon receipt. Please include the shipping receipt in your return package to ensure proper credit. • Full refund may be requested within the first 30 days for defective or unused product.
