NOTE: The LSQ1NSMSC0 is hot swappable. That is, you can remove the module from a switch when the switch is powered on. 3.1 Installing the LSQ1NSMSC0 1. Locate the slot where you will install the LSQ1NSMSC0, and remove the blank panel from the position. This manual describes installing the LSQ1NSMSC0 to slot 2. 2. Push the module (with the components facing on) into the slot along the guide rails until the positioning hole of the module is seated onto the positioning pin on the backplane. Push the ejector levers inward to lock the module in place. 3. Fasten the captive screws on the module with a Philips screwdriver. iii Manual Version: 6P103-20130125 BOM: 3123A0F9 Part number: 5998-2243 Figure 3 Insert the LSQ1NSMSC0 (1) Push the module into the slot along the guide rails until the positioning hole of the module is seated onto the positioning pin on the backplane. (2) Push the ejector levers inward to lock the module in place. 3.2 Removing the LSQ1NSMSC0 1. Loosen the captive screws on the module with a Philips screwdriver until all spring pressure is released. 2. Hold the ejector levers of the module and push them outward. Gently pull the module out of the slot along the guide rails. 3. Put the removed module on an antistatic workbench with the PCB side facing upward or place it in an antistatic bag. If you do not install a new LSQ1NSMSC0 in the slot, install a blank panel to prevent dust from entering the chassis and ensure normal ventilation in the switch. 4 Logging in to the LSQ1NSMSC0 Before logging in to the LSQ1NSMSC0, configure the AUX user interface of the module. iv Manual Version: 6P103-20130125 BOM: 3123A0F9 Part number: 5998-2243 Table 4 Configure the AUX user interface of the LSQ1NSMSC0 Commands Description system-view Available in user view. user-interface aux first-number [ last-number ] Enter one or more AUX user interface views Specify the none authentication mode authentication-mode none By default, password authentication is performed for users that log in through the AUX user interface. Configure the user privilege level for login users user privilege level level By default, the default command level is 0 for the AUX user interface. HP recommends you to set the level to 3. After configuring the AUX user interface, use the oap connect command to log in to the module from the switch to enter the command line interface (CLI) of the module and manage the module. To return to the CLI of the switch, press Ctrl+K. Table 5 Redirect from the switch to the LSQ1NSMSC0 Command Description When the switch works in standalone mode: Available in user view oap connect slot slot-number When the switch works in IRF mode: oap connect chassis chassis-number slot slot-number Available in user view NOTE: Besides the login method mentioned in this manual, you can also log in to the LSQ1NSMSC0 through Telnet, or the console port on the module. For more information, see HP NetStream Monitoring Module Configuration Guide. 5 Upgrading the LSQ1NSMSC0 The LSQ1NSMSC0 supports software upgrade through the console port and a management Ethernet interface on the module. For more information about how to upgrade the LSQ1NSMSC0, see HP Security Modules Software Upgrade Guide. The LSQ1NSMSC0 adopts independent boot and application programs, so the boot menu is different from the switch. To upgrade the application program of the LSQ1NSMSC0, use one of the following ways: 1. Remote upgrade at the CLI • Use the FTP/TFTP protocol through the management Ethernet interface of the LSQ1NSMSC0. 2. Local upgrade through the boot menu • Use the XMODEM protocol through the console port of the LSQ1NSMSC0 • Use the FTP/TFTP protocol through the management Ethernet interface of the LSQ1NSMSC0. v Manual Version: 6P103-20130125 BOM: 3123A0F9 Part number: 5998-2243 NOTE: • The LSQ1NSMSC0 does not support software upgrade through a switching and routing processing unit (SRPU) of the switch. • Using the XMODEM protocol to upgrade the module is relatively slow. To reduce the upgrade time, HP recommends you to upgrade the module through the FTP/TFTP protocol. • When you upgrade the LSQ1NSMSC0 through the management Ethernet interface, make sure that the module and the FTP or TFTP server can reach each other. 6 Obtaining documentation For module installation, see the HP 7500 Switch Series Installation Guide.
