Driven by customer requirements, Huawei launches the TP3006 telepresence system (hereinafter referred to as the TP3006) based on its powerful R&D capabilities and years of experience in HD audio-visual technologies. The telepresence technology is employed to deliver face-to-face communications where conference participants are shown in true-to-life dimensions. The TP3006 uses cutting-edge technologies such as 48:9 video collection, shadowless digital image stitching, and 3 x 1080p HD video to support six-seat real-size telepresence, full-around sound localization, and universal visual touch control. The TP3006 can integrate with Huawei video solutions to provide the telepresence videoconferencing system, HD videoconferencing system, and SD videoconferencing system, leading the videoconferencing technology as we enter a new era. 2010-5-8 Huawei Confidential Page 4 of 23 Huawei TP3006 Product Description 2 INTERNAL Appearance and Composition 2.1 Overall Appearance The TP3006 is a tri-screen telepresence product that improves user experience in video conferences and delivers real-size and face-to-face conference effect. High quality user experience is made possible by using the image stitching technology and integrated conference solution that Huawei has developed based on its rich experience in HD audio-visual technologies. Figure 2-1 Overall appearance of the TP3006 2010-5-8 Huawei Confidential Page 5 of 23 Huawei TP3006 Product Description INTERNAL 2.2 Composition The TP3006 consists of the tri-lens camera, core codec, 65-inch displays, 50-inch display, mechanical parts of the final assembly (professional conference table, front-to-end mechanical parts, TV cabinet and device rack, tri-lens camera support, and multi-functional socket), microphones, central control host, wireless touch panel, HD matrix, and switch. Figure 2-2 Composition of the TP3006 2010-5-8 Huawei Confidential Page 6 of 23 Huawei TP3006 Product Description INTERNAL 2.2.2 TC300 Tri-Lens Camera Figure 2-3 Appearance of the TC300 tri-lens camera The TP3006 uses the TC300 tri-lens camera (hereinafter referred to as the TC300) dedicated for telepresence products developed by Huawei. The TC300 defies the resolution and view angle constraints of traditional cameras. The TC300 uses the patented digital image stitching technology to collect 48:9 video in triple 1080p resolution, and thus provides eye contact, real-size, and shadowless telepresence experience. The TC300 possesses powerful video processing capability by using a first-class chip that supports triple 1080p resolution. The leading noise reduction technology is also built in the TC300 to display the most real video. To solve inconsistency in images and small depth of field due to stitching of images captured by the three individual cameras, the TC300 uses automatic synchronous processing of internal parameters and digital stitching to remove disturbance in video, light, background color, and color temperature, achieving integration of HD images of the three displays and larger depth of field. 2.2.3 Core Codec VP9039A-T Figure 2-4 Appearance of the VP9039A-T The VP 9039A-T video terminal is a dedicated telepresence core codec developed by Huawei and adopts the following industrial leading technologies: 2010-5-8 Huawei Confidential Page 7 of 23 Huawei TP3006 Product Description l Clear video codec (1080p 50/60 fps live video) l Excellent broadband stereo audio codec (AAC-LD) l Standard H.239 HD dual stream l Perfect mechanism for line backup l Efficient packet loss concealment l Intelligent bandwidth auto-adaptation l Reliable encryption of signaling and media streams INTERNAL 2.2.4 Mechanical Parts of the Final Assembly Figure 2-5 Appearance of mechanical parts of the final assembly The mechanical parts of the final assembly are important components of the TP3006 and listed as follows: l Professional conference table l Front-to-end mechanical parts l TV cabinet l Device rack l Tri-lens camera support l Multi-functional socket The mechanical parts of the final assembly have a simple and sleek shape. In this case, perfect, simple, and uniform appearance is provided for users. l User-oriented design The mechanical parts of the final assembly are best practices of UCD experts. The embedded cables and devices contribute to a simple appearance, thus improving the conference environment. The arc screens, half-round conference table, embedded microphones, and embedded speakers improve user experience in remote communications. 3 Product Features 3.1 Real-size HD Video The TP3006 uses the tri-lens camera provided by Huawei to capture images. By integrating the powerful codec capability of the dedicated telepresence terminal and the human engineering theory, the TP3006 shows the meeting participants in true-to-life dimensions on the three 65-inch TVs. Each screen displays the 1080p real-size images of two participants, making the participants feel that they are in the same meeting room. 2010-5-8 Huawei Confidential Page 9 of 23 Huawei TP3006 Product Description INTERNAL 3.2 True-to-Life Conference Experience Traditional video conferences present simple voice and video communications. The TP3006, however, demonstrates a historic revolution from traditional video conferences to telepresence conferences by showing participants of different sites face to face in true-to-life dimensions. The telepresence system captures and displays body languages and eye contact on screens. This improves user experience dramatically. 3.3 48:9 Wide-Screen Conference Experience The TP3006 provides excellent wide-screen conference experience. It adopts the tri-lens camera provided by Huawei to seamlessly stitch the three channels of 1080p images captured. In this way, six real-size HD images can be displayed on the screens. Compared with a traditional video conference, the TP3006 adopts the multi-image synchronization, image stitching, environment integration technologies to solve the problems of dead zone in image stitching, ghost, small field depth, and unnatural background. Instead, it provides a wide field depth and allows a half-round table for participants. 2010-5-8 Huawei Confidential Page 10 of 23 Huawei TP3006 Product Description INTERNAL 3.4 Full-Around Sound Localization The TP3006 provides full-around sound localization. Participants in remote sites can immediately locate the speaker at any corner in the meeting room. Huawei extends its best practices in AEC, AGC, and ANS technologies to the TP3006. In addition, the TP3006 adopts the 22 kHz AAC-LD and unique hidden three-dimensional speaker design to provide cinema-level sound localization effects. You can easily locate the speaker at a remote site, making the communications smoother. 3.5 Superior HD Data Taking the application requirements of HD data into full consideration, the TP3006 is designed with a 50-inch TV to display HD data so that you can view HD data easily while viewing the video of a remote site, which makes the overall design more elegant without affecting normal video communications. The TP3006 has the following features: l Standard H.239 HD dual stream Supporting the standard H.239 protocol, the TP3006 can transmit two independent channels of video streams. After the Video Graphics Array (VGA) output interface on a computer is connected to the multi-functional socket on the desktop, both the conference video and the content displayed on the computer, such as a presentation, a Word document, a flash, or an HD picture, can be transmitted to a remote site simultaneously. In addition, the TP3006 supports a resolution of up to 1280 x 1024, which is the highest H.239 content resolution in the industry. In this case, the characters of 6.5 points in a Word document can be displayed clearly. l Unique design The 50-inch display is hung under the middle 65-inch display and inclines in a certain angle to ensure the best views of six participants. This does not affect normal video communication. The 50-inch display blends in well with three 65-inch displays, which looks beautifully designed. l Plug and play The TP3006 provides SXGA interfaces that support plug-and-play so that users can connect their laptops to the telepresence system and share data contents during conferences. HD data can be displayed automatically through the SXGA interfaces and the plug and play function. l Superior conference experience The TP 3006 boasts superb HD data processing capability and high-quality videos by using the 50-inch professional plasma display, improving the conference experience. 2010-5-8 Huawei Confidential Page 11 of 23 Huawei TP3006 Product Description INTERNAL 3.6 Intelligent Central Control System The TP3006 provides the intelligent one-tap control function. Users can operate on the touch panel by tapping the icons. Unlike traditional conferences, the intelligent central control system does not require multiple control devices or multi-level menu operations. Users can customize various display modes and switch between them by tapping buttons. Figure 3-6 Screen for customizing the UI of the touch controller 3.7 Powerful QoS Adaptability On an IP network, packet loss easily occurs during data transmission. This affects the quality of conferences. By using the proprietary super error concealment (SEC) function, the TP3006 automatically adjusts the QoS control policies and applies proper audio-visual processing policies based on the transmission performance of the IP network, ensuring optimal audio and video quality. In this way, a conference can be held smoothly even when the packet loss rate reaches 3%. In terms of network jitter, delay, and packet error, the performance of the TP3006 does better than standard products and similar products without the SEC function. 3.8 Low Network Bandwidth Requirement In addition to the latest H.264 encoding technology, the TP3006 adopts the patented VideoIntensifier and ViewProcess technologies to enhance the video compression ratio. That is, the TP3006 delivers a more intuitive, clearer, and smoother video with the same bandwidth. The video resolution can reach 720p when the call bandwidth is higher than or equal to 3 Mbit/s, and 1080p when the call bandwidth is higher than 6 Mbit/s. 2010-5-8 Huawei Confidential Page 15 of 23 Huawei TP3006 Product Description INTERNAL 3.9 Rich Lines for Accessing the Network The TP3006 provides multiple line interfaces, such as 4E1 and IP line interfaces. In addition to a mandatory IP interface, the 4E1 line interface is accessed through an interface board that supports plug and play. These interfaces can fully meet different access requirements. Also, users who use E1 lines do not need to pay for unnecessary line interfaces, saving costs and protecting investment. The line quality of the TP3006 determines whether the best experience of the 1080p HD video can be achieved. Huawei provides the exclusive network access solution through 4E1 lines, which helps users enjoy the lifelike conference experience without worrying about the line reliability. 3.10 Proven Conference Security The TP3006 supports the H.235 signaling and media stream encryption technology. Working with the MCU and management platform of Huawei, the TP3006 supports end-to-end encryption and decryption of the signaling and media streams of all services over the entire network to improve the security of the conference data. 3.11 Open and Standard System The TP3006 is a new-generation product based on the standard videoconferencing system. The TP3006 can be seamlessly integrated into the management software at the service layer and the MCU in Huawei videoconferencing solutions. In addition, the TP3006 can interwork with the telepresence products, HD video terminals, SD video terminals, desktop video terminals, and telephone conference products that support the H.323 or SIP protocol in the industry. Thus, video conferences of the entire network are compatible with each other. This protects investment, improves audio-visual quality, and meets different requirements. 3.12 Integrated Control The TP3006 can easily manage telepresence sites in a unified manner through the RMCC provided by Huawei telepresence solutions. In addition, the TP3006 can automatically switch between the site being viewed and the site being broadcast and always ensure real-size and eye contact video quality. MCUs are deployed on a tiered basis in line with the actual network conditions and capacity. Huawei Confidential Page 18 of 23 Huawei TP3006 Product Description INTERNAL l Based on the site size and environment, dual-row TP3016s are deployed on large-sized sites, single-row TP3006s are deployed in small to medium-sized sites, and uni-screen TP1002s are deployed in small or executive offices. l Recording devices are deployed on important sites according to customers' requirements. 4.1.3 Functions and Features l HD and real-size video, sound localization, and face-to-face communications are ensured on all sites. l The network access over IP or 4E1 lines is supported, thus achieving high reliability. l The telepresence platforms 8660 and 8650 that feature the highest security and reliability in the industry are used for access. Tiered and role-based telepresence platform management in a distributed manner is supported. l Access through uni-screen systems is supported. In VIP meeting rooms, telepresence series products are deployed based on the meeting room size to ensure conference quality. In public meeting rooms, an HD and SD hybrid network is set up based on actual conditions to reduce investment. 4.2.3 Functions and Features l HD and real-size video, sound localization, and face-to-face communications are delivered in a conference between telepresence sites. l Interconnection between the telepresence system and the existing HD and SD systems as well as conference control, are supported. l Network access over IP or 4E1 lines is supported, thus achieving high reliability. 2010-5-8 Huawei Confidential Page 20 of 23 Huawei TP3006 Product Description INTERNAL l The videoconferencing platforms 8660 and 8650 that feature the highest security and reliability in the industry are used for access. l Reconstruction is performed based on the existing network.
