HunterispleasedtointroducetheSRR–ASimpleandReliableRemoteControlSystemforusewithourSRC, Pro-C,ICC,andfuturecontrollers.TheSRRcanofferyoufeaturesotherremotescan’t,atapriceyoucanafford. TheSRRtransmitterismadeofsturdyABSandhasnoexternalantennatogetintheway.Itfeaturesalarge LCDandfour-buttonoperation.Don’tletitssizefoolyou– whileit’ssmallenoughtofitinyourshirtpocket,it hasanopenfieldrangeofupto450feet. ThelargeLCDdisplayandsimplefour-buttoncontrolmaketheSRRasnaptouse.Simplypressthe or keystodisplaythestationorprogramyouwanttoturnonoroff,thenpressthe or button – whatcould beeasier?Don’tworryaboutforgettingtoturnofftheSRR.Afterseveralminutesofinactivitytheunitturns itselfofftoextendbatterylife.Then,theunitcanbeturnedbackonbytouchinganybutton.Astandard9-volt alkalinebatterywilllastanentireseasonforacontractor,andyearsforahomeowner. ThisinstallationisidealforsituationswhentheSRR systemwillbeleftpermanentlyconnectedtothe controllerinanindoorarea.

MAXIMIZINGOPERATINGRANGE................................................. Therearemanyfactorswhichinfluenceoperating range.Listedbelowareafewthingsyoucandoto assurethatyougetmaximumrangepossible. 1. DonotinstallSmartPortnearlargesourcesof metalsuchaspowermeters,waterpipes,and aluminumsiding.
NOTE:Remoteisdesignedfor residentialandsmallcommercial sites.Largeprojectssuchas cemeteriesandgolfcourseswill requirealong-rangeremote.
2. DonotinstallSmartPortinabasementor undergroundlocation.Thehigherthelocation thebetterchanceofstrongreception. 3. Formaximumrangeinalldirections,thereceiver shouldbepointedstraightup(vertically).If receiverismountedwithitsantennaoriented horizontally,receptionwillbeverygoodif transmitterisoneithersideoftheantenna,but verypoorifitisfacingeitherendofthereceiver antenna. 4. Whenoperatingtransmitter,holdthetransmitter asverticalaspossibleandfaceinthedirection ofthereceiver,especiallyifitisseveralhundred feetaway.

PREPARINGTHETRANSMITTERFORUSE.................................. YourSRRSystemisdesignedtoworkrightoutof thebox.Thismeansthatotherthaninstallingthe battery,youmaychoosetoskipthisentiresection. However,werecommendyoureaditbecausewith afewsimplestepsyoucancustomizeyourSRRto addfunctionalityandsecuritytoyoursystem.Be awarethatifyouchangeyourtransmitteraddress ormaximumstationnumberasdescribedonthe followingpages,youshouldmakeanoteofthe settings,sincewhenthebatteryisremovedanda newoneisinstalled,thetransmitterwillrevertback totheoriginalsettings.

INSTALLINGTHETRANSMITTERBATTERY................................ YourSRRTransmitterrequiresa9-voltalkaline battery.Toinstallthebattery,slideopenthe batterydooronthebackofthetransmitter.Attach thebatterytotheclip,insertthebatteryintothe compartment,andslidethebatterydoorshut.When changingthebattery,pushthebatterydowninthe casetorevealthebatteryclipbeforeattemptingto removethebatteryfromthecase.

Youhavetheabilitytoadjusttheamountoftime thatastationwillrunonceithasbeenturnedonby yourSRRSystem.Thisdoesnotaffecttheruntime programmedintoyourcontroller.Thisadjustmentis madeusingthetransmitterasdescribedbelow. TochangetheRemoteActivatedStationRunTime followthestepsbelow: 1. Iftheunitisoff(nodisplay),powerthe transmitterupbypressingoranyofthebuttons foratleast1secondandthenreleasingthe button.Thetransmitterwillfirstilluminatethe entiredisplayfor1secondthendisplaythe activestation. 2. Pressthe and buttonssimultaneously, untiltheword“RUNTIME”alongwiththe currentRunTimeisdisplayed(defaultis10 minutes).Thedisplaywillbeblinkingatthis point.Ifmorethan5secondsgobywithouta buttonbeingpressed,theTransmitterwillrevert backtodisplayingtheactivestation.

TheSRRSystemwillallowyoutoremotelyturnon andoffanystationonyourSRC,ICC,orfutureHunter controllerwiththepressofabutton.Onceon,the stationwillrunfortheruntimeyouhavedesignated intheremote.Toremotelyactivateastationor programfollowthestepsbelow: 1. PlugtheReceiverintoaSmartPort ®thatis connectedtoapoweredcontrollerandwaitfor twobeepsindicatingthattheReceiver isready. 2. IfyourTransmitterisnoton(nodisplay),press anybuttonforatleastonesecondandrelease. TheTransmitterwillfirstilluminatetheentire display,thendisplaytheactivestation. 3. Usethe and buttonstodisplaythestation orprogramyouwouldliketostart. 4. Pressthe buttontostartthestationor program.TheTransmitterwilldisplaytheword “TRANSMIT”andtheletters“On”.Bothwill

flashforabout4secondsindicatingthatitis sendingthecommandtothereceiver.Ifyouare neartheReceiver,youwillhereitbeep2times. ThisindicatesthattheReceiverhasreceivedthe command. 5. Pressthe buttontoturnoffanystationthat ison.Thedisplaywillread“TRANSMIT”andthe letters“Of”.Bothwillflashforabout4seconds, andtheReceiverwillbeepagaintwice.TheSRR Systemisdesignedtoturnononestationata time(unlessyouactivateaprogram).Therefore, turningastationonwhileanotherstationis operatingwillcausetheoperatingstationto turnoff. NOTE:TheSRRremotecanactivate anystationonthecontrollerwhether thecontrollerdialisinthe“SYSTEM OFF”,“RUN”or“RUN/BYPASSSENSOR” modes.Ifasensordevicehasbeen wiredtothecontroller,theSRR remotewillNOToverridethesensor formanualoperation.

Therearemanyclaimsbeingmadeabouttherange ofvariousremotecontrolsystems,whethertheybe forautoalarms,garagedoors,orirrigationsystems forthatmatter.ThepublishedrangefortheSRR Systemisupto450feet.Mostuserswillachievethis rangeormore,butafewmaynot.Itistheattemptof thissectiontoeducatetheuseraboutthosefactors thatinfluenceoperatingrange.Webelievethatwe haveachievedthemaximumperformanceavailable onthisfrequency.Here’swhy… Therangeofanyremotecontrolsystemisdependent onmanyfactors.Theseincludetheterrainata particularsite,obstructionssuchasbuildings andwalls,thestrengthofthevariousinterfering signals,thesensitivityoftheReceiver,theabilityof theReceivertoreject“unwanted”signals,andthe strengthoftheTransmitter.Sinceitisimpossible tocontroltheobstructions,terrainatasite,andthe strengthofinterferingsignals,itisimpossibleto guaranteeanoperatingrangeunderallconditions. However,wehavedoneeverythingunderourcontrol tomaximizetheoperatingrangeofthissystem.

TheSRRTransmitterhasbeendesignedto transmitthemaximumpowerallowedbytheFCC. Furthermore,ithasspecialcircuitrytoassurethat thismaximumoutputpowerismaintaineduntiljust beforethebatterygoesdead.Othertransmitters emitlessandlesspowerasthebatterywearsdown. AndourspecialSmartPort ®wiringharnessis designedtokeepinterferingsignalsataminimum, especiallywiththeadditionofHuntershielded cable.TheReceiveremploysareceptionmethodfar superiortothatusedinatypicalgaragedooropener orcaralarm. TheSRRhasbeendesignedtogiveyousimple, reliableoperationformanyyears.
