Hardware Recording/Playback Set Up Tips ® PhoneTree Customer Help Document Question: How can I make sure my PhoneTree hardware is set up properly for recording and/or playback? Answer: If you have added PhoneTree hardware to an existing non-hardware setup, or have made any hardware changes and are experiencing recoring and/or playback issues, follow these steps: For all PhoneTree USB products 1 Check to see that the pink connector on your headset is firmly inserted in the microphone jack on the back of the PhoneTree unit. Similarly, make sure that the black connector on your headset is firmly inserted into the speaker jack on the back of the PhoneTree unit. 2 Be sure the USB cable is firmly connected, both to the USB port on the back of the PhoneTree unit and the USB port on your PC. 1 2 For PhoneTree 2100, 2500 and 3500 1 a. From within the PhoneTree software, click on the Admin tab. Click the icon labeled Configure Global Settings. b. Click on the Microphone Tab. 1 Click the Microphone tab. c. Uncheck the box next to Use the Sound Card in My PC to Record/Play Messages. d. Under Microphone Style, choose Microphone in Headset. Click OK. 2 Restart your PC, then restart the PhoneTree software. To do this, click on the Configure Text-to-Speech icon on the Admin desktop. Choose Do Not Load TTS Engine, then click OK. Click OK on the warning dialog that states You must quit this application and restart for changes to take effect, then quit the PhoneTree software and relaunch. 4 If these steps do not address your recording and/or playback issues, please call PhoneTree customer service at 866.234.2943. page 2 of 2 Revised 6/08 © 2008 PCS, Inc.
