Position the Hybrid P1090 Step 2. Remove connector blank The P1090 can be either hung on a wall or placed on a flat surface. The network operator should have provided information as to which port the fiber connector needs to be plugged into. If choosing to mount on a wall, a drilling template for positioning the mounting screws can be downloaded from https://genexis.eu/Universe-HBR-drill.pdf. Scanning the following QR code will take you directly to the URL. If positioning on a desk or other flat surface, attach the supplied rubber feet to the back of the device. When choosing a location for the P1090, keep in mind that it must be placed within 150cm (1.5m) of the both the FTU and a power socket. Important: It is crucial these next two steps be completed in one go. Failure do to so will result in damage to the fibre optic connector and cause signal degradation. 2 To remove the connector blank, gently squeeze the tab between thumb and forefinger as shown and pull out in the direction of the arrow. Step 3. Remove dustcap Step 4. Insert connector The fiber connector is protected by a red dustcap. Insert the fiber connector into the empty slot in the FTU. Push inwards in the direction of the arrow until it clicks into place. Remove the dustcap by pulling the tab in the direction of the arrow. Step 5. Finish Connect the Hybrid P1090’s LAN port to the residential gateway. Connect the supplied power adaptor to the Hybrid P1090 and plug it into a power outlet. The device will power on immediately. 3 Troubleshooting LED Power WAN LAN 4 Activity Status LEDs Description On Powered successfully. Off Power is not connected. On The optical link is activated. Blinking (green) Data activity on the optical link. Off No optical link. On (green) The link is up at the speed of 1 Gbps. On (orange) The link is up at the speed of 10/100 Mbps. Blinking (green) Data activity occurs at the link speed of 1 Gbps. Blinking (orange) Data activity occurs at the link speed of 10/100 Mbps. Off No link is available or the traffic is blocked. Safety and Care Safety Care Operating Conditions Always unplug your Hybrid P1090 from the power supply before cleaning! ›› Do not operate the device in temperatures below 0° C or above 40° C Safe Operation !! Never look directly into the end of a fibre optic cable. !! Use only the supplied power adaptor and make sure the adaptor is rated for use with the power supply. !! Indoor use only. !! Never expose to or immerse in water. !! Do not block the air vents (the device will overheat). If needed, the Hybrid P1090 can be cleaned by wiping it over using a soft, dry cloth. Avoid any abrasive material that might scratch or damage the surface. To remove accumulated dirt, a damp cloth may be used. Make sure no moisture or liquid enters the Hybrid P1090. This will cause permanent damage and will prevent the device from operating. Product logos and LED icons will be damaged by the use of strong cleaning products or ethanol based solutions. Repair and Service ›› Do not open the housing. There are no user serviceable parts inside. ›› Please contact your service provider if the device stops operating as expected.
