HyperScan® Turnkey Receiver Assembly Instructions ABOUT THE HYPERSCAN TURNKEY RECEIVER The Turnkey Receiver is a fully integrated HyperScan Receiver system. It combines sophisticated HyperScan Receiver software with a PC-compatible computer and high speed modems to provide an “out of box” solution to your long distance picture transmission requirements. The turnkey system is fully configured and ready to operate. Simply connect the components and go to work. UNPACK YOUR TURNKEY RECEIVER 1. Inspect each carton for shipping damage. If damage is evident, report it to your carrier immediately. 2. Make sure you have received everything. Compare the contents of the cartons with the list below. If an item is missing, recheck the packing materials. If the item cannot be found, contact your Robot dealer for assistance. The HyperScan Turnkey Receiver requires AC power and appropriate telephone line(s). Assemble your Receiver system as follows: q Plug the keyboard into the computer’s keyboard port. q Plug the mouse into the mouse port. q Plug the monitor video cable into the computer’s video port and secure the screws. q Plug the software key into the computer’s parallel printer port and secure the screws. q (HyperScan Quad-Link only) Plug the large end of the four channel serial interface cable into the computer’s mating connector and secure the screws. Plug each remaining connector into the mating connector on each modem and secure the screws. q (HyperScan Single-Link only) Plug one end of the single channel serial interface cable into the computer’s mating connector marked COM 1 or COM A and secure the screws. Plug the other end into the mating connector of the modem and secure the screws. q Plug one end of a telephone cable into the LINE jack of each modem jack. Plug the other end of each cable into a standard telephone jack. HyperScan® CONNECT THE POWER q Plug the modem power supply into each modem and connect it to AC power. q Check the voltage selection switch on the computer and monitor (if present). Make sure it is set correctly for the voltage you are using. q Plug the computer power cord into the computer and connect it to AC power. q Plug the monitor power cord into the monitor and connect it to AC power. POWER UP YOUR TURNKEY RECEIVER q Press the monitor power switch and the computer power switch. The Receiver software loads automatically. REGISTER YOUR TURNKEY RECEIVER q Register for Factory Technical Support by filling out and returning the enclosed Robot product registration card. TEST YOUR TURNKEY RECEIVER q Test your Turnkey Receiver by calling one of the Factory Demonstration Transmitter sites. Refer to your HyperScan System Installation and Operation Manual. GO TO WORK... q Refer to the rest of your HyperScan system documentation for information on how to use HyperScan. q Adjust the brightness and contrast controls on the monitor.
