SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS for SUNNEN® STH1040 SIEMENS OP17 REPLACEMENT KIT

For use on Sunnen® STH-Series Tube Hones Equipped with Siemens OP17 Screens
GENERAL The following instructions cover the replacement of the view screens on Sunnen STH Tube Hones equipped with Siemens OP17 Display Screens.
Tools & Materials The following tools and materials are required for unpacking and installing of your Machine: Hex Wrenches Screwdriver Drill Drill Bits (3,5 & 5,5mm)
REMOVAL Remove Mounting Panel and Siemens OP17 Screen, as follows: CAUTION Ensure all power is removed from the STH before beginning work. Ensure Lock Out/Tag Out Procedures are followed. 1. Turn OFF (disconnect) all power to machine at main circuit coming into machine. 2. Open door to electrical enclosure. Install a Lock Out Tag to prevent door from being closed and machine from being turned on.
OP17 at Connector on PLC , by loosening Connector Screws (refer to Figure 2). 6. Remove Siemens OP17, by removing six (6) Clamps securing OP17 to Face Panel (refer to Figure 2).
INSTALLATION Install new Adapter Plate and View Screen (TP177B) as follows (see Figure 3): 1. Locate Holes, using Adapter Plate as template: • Position Plate in top right hand corner of Panel. • Using Plate as guard mark locations of holes. 2. Drill 2(3,5mm) & 8(5,5mm) holes.. 3. Caulk around opening with silicon sealer, and then install Adapter Plate using hardware provided. 4. Position TP177B into Adapter Plate and thighten six Clamps to secure in place. 5. Connect Communications Cable, removed in step 5-Removal, to TP177B and tighten Connector Screws. 6. Connect 24V Wries, removed in step 4-Removal, by plugging into TP177B.
3. Open door to Operator Console (see Figure 1).
7. Close Door to Operator Console.
4. Disconnect 24V Wires to Siemens OP17 by pulling out connector (see Figure 2).
8. Close door to Electrical Enclosure and remove Lock Out Tag.
5. Disconnect Communications Cable to Siemens
