Enables you to continue to embrace and extend open source with emphasis on Python: -- Expose Python algorithms including: eXtreme gradient boosting (XGBoost), Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE) (advanced way of balancing data), and one-class support vector machines (SVM) -- Convert R nodes to extension nodes that can run either R or Python for Spark. -- Explicitly import and export data through extensions.

Helps save time and effort through usability improvements: -- Allow certain graphs to be exported as MicrosoftTM Office graph objects. -- Choose which nodes can be seen in any palette, including modeling. -- Only display nodes supported by SPSS Analytic Server.

Effective with SPSS Analytic Server V3.1, the pricing model changes from total storage capacity in Hadoop cluster to total number of data nodes in Hadoop cluster. The license term changed from Resource Value Unit (conversion table VUE027A) to Virtual Server. New parts number for the new node-based pricing will be available for new customers, and existing parts number for RVU storagebased pricing will be restricted for existing customer only.

Effective with SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services V8.1, IBM DB2 is bundled with this offering. DB2 technology offers data protection, scalability, and performance for all its database-intensive operations. It is designed to manage data more effectively and efficiently. Improved availability is delivered through enhancements such as online, automated database reorganization. In addition, increased scalability and the ability to leverage the latest in server technology helps deliver increased performance of backup and recovery processes. Social Network Analysis and entity analytics are not available in SPSS Modeler V18.1. Analytical Decision Management V18 is included with IBM SPSS Modeler Gold 18.1 and requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 11. Japanese is not a supported language for the text analytics capability in either IBM SPSS Modeler Desktop V18.1 or IBM SPSS Modeler Server V18.1.
