IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Fundamentals and Daily Operations Duration: 4 days Overview This modular, course covers all the functions necessary to use IBM Tivoli Storage Manager 7.1 in small to medium businesses. This class is for environments where storage administration is a parttime function. Learn how to protect your environment with minimal configuration by using default Tivoli Storage Manager settings when appropriate. Explore the tasks that are necessary for daily operations such as backing up and restoring critical files needed for recovery. These files include the Tivoli Storage Manager server database and recovery logs, storage pools, and client data. You also learn how to manage storage pool volumes, prepare removable media, and monitor events by using query commands and the Operations Center. The student exercises are written for Microsoft Windows 2008 64-bit. IBM Tivoli Storage Manager for Virtual Environments 7.1 Duration: 1 day Overview Learn to install and configure the product, perform full and incremental backup operations, recover individual files and folders, restore volumes, and restore entire virtual machines. You learn to use the new installation wizard to install and configure the product, use the new stand-alone web GUI to perform Full VM Backup operations, Full VM Restore operations, Full VM Instant Restore operations, and Full VM Instant Access operations. You also use the Recovery Agent interface to recover individual files and folders from a point-in-time snapshot and to perform Near-Instant Volume recovery operations. Audience This intermediate-level course is for operators and administrators who are using IBM Tivoli Storage Manager to protect data in a virtual environment.
