1 Purpose ®
This document provides information on Version 2.3.6 of the iCLASS SE Encoder desktop application.
2 Operating Systems Supported The following operating systems are supported: ®

• Microsoft Windows XP (only with Service Pack 3) ®
• Microsoft Windows Vista (only with Service Pack 1 or later) ®
• Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit & 64-bit)
2.1 Windows XP/Vista Workstations For Windows XP or Windows Vista workstations, it should be noted that the iCLASS SE Encoder desktop application requires specific service packs to be installed as prerequisites. For Windows XP, Service Pack 3 is required while with Windows Vista, Service Pack 1 or later is required. The iCLASS SE Encoder desktop application utilizes the Microsoft .NET Framework 4 which has these as requirements (see the Microsoft .NET Framework 4 requirements at: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=17718#systemrequirements for more information).
3 Current Functionality 3.1 User Management • Create and manage users and user security levels • User/password login required
3.2 Key Management • Upload HID Standard and Elite keys to the encoder SAM • Remove HID Standard and Elite keys from the encoder SAM • Revoke HID Standard and Elite keys • Create Custom keys • Remove Custom Keys • Create and manage Key Sets • View available/remaining key slots and memory on a selected encoder
3.3 Reader Configuration Create the following reader configuration cards: • Elite Prep Config Cards • Data Mapping Config Cards • Config Cards for loading keys to HID Readers

3.4 Encoder Configuration • Upload and manage applets that are required to be on the SAM for each technology • Upload credential credits to the SAM • Automatic encoder SAM firmware bootloader upgrades
3.5 Work Order Management • Create and manage Work Orders consisting of 1 or more Work Instructions to do the following: Encode HID Access Application or Custom data and secure application with Standard, Elite or Custom keys Read HID Access Application or Custom data using Standard, Elite or Custom keys Roll keys to Elite and Custom keys • Add and manage data records to be encoded in a grid view specific for each Work Order • Execute single, selected or batches of records from the grid to encode • Read back any card and locate it in the data grid • Export data for any Work Order to a CSV or PDF file • Print Work Order data • View remaining credential credits • Get card information for a card placed on the selected reader (card type, memory size, etc.)
3.6 iCLASS Encoding • Encode HID Access Application (credential credits required) • Encode HID Access Application in an SO (credential credits required) • Read SO and non-SO PACS data • Read and write Custom data to iCLASS 2k, 16k, and 32k cards (credential credits required for writing) • Supports Key Rolling to Elite and Custom keysets (credential credits required)
3.7 MIFARE Classic Encoding • Encode HID Access Application PACS data • Encode HID Access Application PACS data in an SO • Read SO and non-SO PACS data ®
• Read and write Custom data to MIFARE 1k, and 4k cards Optionally update the MAD with a configurable Application ID Optionally modify the sector trailer and block Access Conditions • Supports Key Rolling to Elite and Custom keys

3.9 Seos Encoding • Encode HID Access Application in an SO • Read SO PACS data
3.10 Prox Encoding • Encode HID Access Application to HID Prox cards (Indala and EM Prox not supported) • Read HID Access Application from HID Prox cards (Indala and EM Prox not supported) • Supports both short and long format data
4 Current Limitations 1. Currently does not support Indala Prox cards (PSK modulation) 2. Currently does not support EM Prox cards (ASK modulation) 3. Custom data is currently not supported for Seos cards 4. Currently does not support writing DESFire 0.6 cards 5. Currently does not support MIFARE Mini cards 6. User is able to set an invalid DESFire Custom File size of 0 7. The following formats are not supported for HID Prox: T12201 and 646-0160 ®
8. Multi-technology MIFARE Classic/MIFARE DESFire EV1 not currently supported 9. MIFARE Classic does not support writing credentials to cards which have had the MAD Sector locked with a Custom Key. 10. MIFARE DESFire EV1 does not support writing to cards which have had the PICC Master Key locked with a Custom Key. 11. Currently the Operator user is not allowed to change their own password 12. Users are allowed to create simple passwords 13. Software does not identify the password requirements 14. Currently the Seos Work Order Wizard displays Custom HF migration, which is not supported with Seos October 2013

15. Admin User can not be removed. Recommend changing the Admin User to a more secure password. 16. When importing a Custom Key on an Encoder with different Admin keys there is no error message, as this is not allowed. 17. ABA Track II data type is not currently supported in this release.
