ICX400 Series 802.11ac Access Points Overview
ICX400 Series 802.11ac Access Points
The explosion in demand for content, expanded use in how wireless mobility devices are used, as well as the variety of devices being used, push the need for higher performing wireless mobility networks. Speed is only one factor. The type of data being processed has also changed. Users now use multiple devices, streaming technology, and high definition resulting in the need for a more intelligent network. ICC is at the forefront of software-driven systems designed to not only keep a connection, but more importantly ensure delivery of content. The ICC ICX400 Series of 802.11ac high performance access points not only ensure advanced 600Mbps 11n and 1.3Gbps on 11a, but also use advanced features to ensure content is secure, routed, and delivered due to the additional levels of efficiency derived within the icXchange solution.
Solution Highlights
Rear
The ICX400G platforms were designed as unified performance devices. There are two versions, ICX400GAP and the ICX420GAP, each designed to meet the needs of different market segments while addressing cost of ownership concerns. The ICX400 is a 2x2 MIMO 802.11ac that meets the needs of education, public sector, hospitality, and multi-location deployments. The ICX420GAP is a 3x3 MIMO 802.11ac that lives up to the high performance and high definition requirements for the most demanding enterprise ecosystem. The ICX400 Series APs software-driven solution apply not only filtering and flow classification, but layer on automatic identification of clients, enhanced multicast, and mapping of data streams to ensure QoS policies are followed. Built to delivery connectivity, these various levels ensure not just connectivity but also delivery of content.

Wireless mobility users continue to demonstrate that there’s little limit to their appetite for being and staying connected everywhere. Connectivity is no longer an option, but is mandatory and remains part of the decision of the customer when looking for hotels, coffee shops, neighborhoods, and any other place where we spent any amount of time. This explosion in device use also raises issues of security, bandwidth quality, content delivery, and other potential performance issues. The ICX400 series APs resolve these issues either as a stand-alone AP or as part of the much larger and intelligent Link series ACS platform. At ICC we address these concerns with software-driven systems combined with advanced hardware platforms designed to be flexible to match the needs of any user.
