Exclusively from Peachtree Audio! High-resolution 32bit, 24/192 multi-input DAC with PURE DIGITAL iPod dock. Now it’s easy to bring your preamplifier, receiver or integrated amplifier into the “computer age” with the Peachtree Audio iDac. The iDac is a stand-alone DAC featuring a PURE DIGITAL iPod dock, delivering nothing but “1’s” and “0’s” from your iPod directly to its highresolution digital-to-analog converter. The iDac has four additional high-resolution digital inputs for your computer, Apple TV, cable box, Sonos or anything else that’s digital. The improvement in all of your digital sources is guaranteed to be nothing less than startling!
Virtually all iPod docks today pass only the "analog" signal from your iPod. Not so with the iDac! The iDac sends the digital "1's and 0's" from your iPod directly to its own internal high performance DAC. That's why we call it PURE DIGITAL. And that's how your iPod plus the iDac - produces sound to rival high-end audiophile CD players.
High-Resolution Digital Audio The iDac features a 24bit/96kHz high-resolution USB input for audio from your computer. Until now, recording engineers were the only group to hear music at this resolution on a regular basis. Now you can, too. The iDac is plug-n-play, so you‘ll never have to search the web for elusive, hard-to-install USB drivers. The setup is simple and will easily outperform your redbook CD player—all from the the computer you use every day! When you experience the 24bit/192kHz resolution available through the iDac’s coaxial and optical inputs, you enter a whole new world! It’s like 3D for your ears—finally approaching the open musicality of vinyl records, but with a signal-to-noise ratio that a turntable could never match. Even standard mp3 recordings take on a new life and sound better than you’ve ever heard them! Video The iDac includes both component and S–video outputs. Place your iPod into the dock and watch TV shows, movies, YouTube all on your HDTV. Or gather ‘round after a big day and watch the movies you’ve created on the fly with your new iPod touch. Add just the right playlist for atmosphere, and enjoy home movies like never before! Special Digital-to-Analog Converter The heart of the iDac—what propels the iPod and other digital sources to a new level—is our all new ESS 32 bit Sabre32 digital-to-analog converter. It’s engineered for real-world sources that often deliver a high-jitter signal— computers, iPods, cable boxes, Apple TV, Sonos, etc. Almost anything digital. The iDac will also improve the digital output from most any standard CD or DVD player. Most DACs on the market were developed to handle low-jitter signals—the digital output of a good CD player, for example—but are poorly suited for computer audio. When faced with the extremes of streaming, bad power supplies, grounding issues and high jitter, they almost all fail to deliver maximum performance. The iDac, on the other hand, was developed with precisely these extremes in mind. Our design uses a mutli-layer DAC board with over 450 components, a linear power supply and 11 regulated subpower supplies—preventing noise and distortion at every level. The ESS Sabre32 DAC’s patented jitter-reduction circuit re-clocks the digital signal before passing it through a high-resolution 24bit/192kHz bit-perfect processor. Re-clocking is needed for computers and most streaming or hard-drive based music servers because most have high levels of jitter and/or noise. Noise, typically associated with ground problems and switching power supplies, is eliminated by transformer-coupling each digital input. The USB connection is galvanically isolated, eliminating noise generated by your computer’s switching power supply and greatly improving sound quality. Not only has the Peachtree Audio iDac been rigorously designed to deal with the real world problems of computer and streaming audio, it meets the true test of any audio component . . . it SOUNDS great!

The iDac sports the inputs you need to use any digital audio device. • On the bottom left, the tiny button is an “NAL/NAS” filter to help fine-tune your listening preferences. NAS is nonoversampling with no brick-wall filter, preferred by many audiophiles for its smooth almost tube-like musical quality. NAL is non-aliasing, eliminating aliasing distortion in the upsampling process. It may be preferred by listeners who like a more analytical sound; it also measures better. • Moving to the right is the fixed-level line-out. • The HI BIT LOW BIT swiitch allows you to set the ultimate resolution of the DAC to your preference. • Next on the right are the component and S-video outputs. • The remote in/out allows you to run a wireless extension for switching and automation with macros. • The yellow RCA’s are the coax 1 and 2 inputs and just below are the two optical inputs. • Next is the 24/96 USB input for your computer. • To the right you’ll see the multi-voltage switch and the AC connector. The removable power cord allows easy upgrading, should you desire. • The iDac case is made of MDF, just like high-quality speakers. You’ll hear no ringing from this cabinet.
