Cleverly simple control of energy Prefect Product File PRE5002 Touch Activated Three-Stage Thermostat Cleverly simple control of energy Key features.  Rating (at 250vAC) 16A heating load  Temperature Range –Set-back level 5-19°C; Boost level 16-30°C Frost -5°C  Temperature accuracy to +/- 0.5 ⁰C  Time setting: 0-3 hours  Lvd and Emc Compliant  Other temperature ranges and timing available to special order This Touch Activated Thermostat offers the optimum in convenient control. Featuring the same automatic triple-temperature sensor as the popular PRE5001 unit. Ideally suited to control panel heaters or wet radiators in student residences, hotels, and holiday homes, the PRE5002 offers three temperature levels – ‘set-back’ maintains an economical background heat; a higher boost heat is available at the touch of a button and if no activation is detected after 48, hours the temperature is allowed to fall to a 5 °C frost-protection setting. A further touch on the fascia re-activates the unit into the comfort / set-back routine. Designed to provide accurate control over room heating, each one will optimise energy usage whilst maintaining comfortable temperatures automatically. Prefect Controls specialise in the automatic control of heating, lighting, and ventilation systems. When the front of the unit is touched, the unit allows the room temperature to boost to the customers pre-set comfort heat level for a time period - also pre-set. Once the time period has expired the unit switches back to maintaining the setback heat level. Installation Instructions: 1. Isolate the circuit supplying the heating points, which are to be connected to the PRE5002. This should be undertaken at the distribution board. 2. The PRE5002 should be positioned where operation will not be affected by local heat sources such as lighting or the heater itself, by limited airflow or cold drafts for example. The unit should be mounted ideally at chest height. 3. Carry out any adjustments to the heating circuits to allow for the correct operation of the system. Adjust the circuit wiring to allow for the following connections: • Terminals ‘L’ & ‘N’ - connect a 240V 24-hour supply. • Terminal ‘LIVE OUT’ - connect to the heater or contactor coil. • Any CPC or earthing conductor should be connected ONLY to the mounting box. 4. We recommend this product is installed by a competent person to IEE regulations in force at the time. Setting & Commissioning Information: THIS UNIT SHOULD ONLY BE ADJUSTED WHILST ISOLATED FROM THE MAINS SUPPLY The following are guidance notes for the commissioning of the unit. Set the three adjustment wheels to the desired setting. “Boost” The temperature that you want the thermostat to maintain when room is occupied. “Set-Back” The temperature that you want the thermostat to maintain when the room is Un –Occupied. “Time” The Time that you wish the thermostat to run for at the “boost” themperture. Once set: Mount the unit in it’s box and energise the supply circuit and allow 30 seconds for the unit to stabilise. When the green LED is lit, this indicates the unit is maintaining the setback heat level. When the fascia is touched, the red LED will illuminate to indicate the unit has switched to maintaining the boost heat level. N.B. Due to variations in room size, heater efficiency, airflow, mounting position and drafts etc., the temperature settings on the dials should be used as guidance only. In some instances it may be necessary to adjust the unit to different settings in order to achieve the required temperatures.
