This ‘top of the range’ PIR activated thermostat offers the optimum in convenient control. Featuring the automatic treble-temperature sensor found in the popular PRE5102 unit, this model offers the additional facility of user adjustment by a rotary knob on the fascia allowing the user to raise or lower temperatures within carefully set limits so that each person has final control over their own heating level.
The same automatic sensor varies temperature according to occupancy in the room making the PRE5203 an ideal choice from the Prefect range for Hotels, luxury offices and any situation where personalised temperature control is needed. The unit boasts the latest in secure time / temperature programming through a simple to use “IR” handset (PRE5900) which allows rapid programming of time / temperature profiles “in situ”. This unique feature makes the PRE5203 the most flexible and tamper-proof control available anywhere.

Requires minimum 35mm back box (45mm recommended if practical) Temperature: Setback temperature adjustable range: from 1°C to 20°C Comfort temperature adjustable from 15°C to 30°C. Frost temperature adjustable from 1°C to 20°C. Unit description: The Prefect PRE5203 PIR thermostat will maintain a room at an internally adjustable setback heat level. When the PIR senses movement the unit boosts the room temperature to a user
adjustable comfort heat level as set on the front of the unit, for a time which is internally set. Once this time period has expired the unit switches back to maintaining the setback heat level.
Installation Instructions: The PRE5203 PIR thermostat can be set utilizing the PRE5900 IR Handset (See PRE5900 Handset data sheet for detailed instructions).
for the correct operation of the system. Connections to the PRE5203 are as follows: • Terminals ‘L’ & ‘N’ - Connect a 240V 24hour supply. • Terminal ‘LIVE OUT’ -Connect to the heater or contactor coil. • Any CPC or earthing conductor should be connected ONLY to the mounting box.
1. Isolate the circuit supplying the heating points that are to be connected to the PRE5203. This should be undertaken at the distribution board. 2. The PRE5203 should ideally be mounted at chest height, and in the optimum position for sensing occupancy in the room. It should be in a position where it’s operation will not be effected by a local heat sources such as lighting or the heater itself, or by limited airflow or cold drafts for example. 3. Setting & Commissioning Information: The following are guidance notes for the commissioning of the unit. The time/temperature profiles of the unit are factory set. However, further adjustments can be made to the unit on site via the PRE5900 Infra-red programming handset. Mount the unit in it’s box and energise the supply circuit and allow 30 seconds for the unit to stabilise. When the green LED is lit, this indicates the unit is maintaining the setback heat level. When the PIR Detects movement, the red LED will illuminate to indicate the unit has switched to maintaining the boost heat level.
