The PRE5900 Programing handset has been designed to allow facility managers to select times and temperatures and install these programs simply, securely and quickly by the press of a button. The PRE5003/4 (touch activated) PRE5104 &PRE5203 (PIR activated) thermostats are all programmed by this convenient and very secure method. Unique IR coding avoids the possibility of unauthorised tampering with settings whilst Management can adjust them at any time. Once frost, comfort & set back temperatures have been programmed into the handset it is a simple task to point the handset at the thermostat and “send” the program. Remove the handset from packing. 2. Remove the battery compartment cover on the back of the handset by sliding it towards the infra-red windows 3. Fit 4 x AA 1.5v pencil batteries, taking care to ensure that the polarity of each battery is correct. We recommend that good quality alkaline batteries are used. Rechargeable batteries should NOT be used as these may cause the unit to malfunction. 4. Once all batteries have been correctly fitted slide the battery compartment cover back into place. Programming: Turn on the unit by pressing the “ON” button once. The display will show:Action ßà Send áâ Now, press the right hand key Once all settings have been chosen use the LEFT hand key to return to the main menu Action ßà Send áâ You are now ready to deliver the program package to the thermostat. Point the handset at the thermostat from a distance no greater than 2 metres, PRESS the “ON” button. The green power light on the thermostat will flash once to indicate that the new program has been received. This procedure can be repeated until all thermostats have been programmed. Should you wish to confirm settings, or check settings of thermostats already installed, press the DOWN arrow until the display shows “ READ”, point the handset at the thermostat from a distance no greater than one metre and press “ON”, the Green LED will flash once to indicate that the program has been read. Now, using the RIGHT hand key, scroll through the stored settings. If the display shows “FAIL”, repeat the procedure. Set the preferred Set-back temperature by using the UP or DOWN keys to select the correct level. Infra-red Transmitter /receiver windows Setback ßà 12˚C áâ Once the correct temperature has been chosen press the RIGHT hand key Boost ßà 24˚C áâ Temperature 21°C Function Display Now, using the UP & DOWN keys, select the boost temperature in the same way, once selected press the RIGHT hand key. Time ßà 240M áâ Again, using the UP & DOWN key, select the appropriate time. Repeat the procedure to select the frost protection temperature and the frost setting default period. Remember this is the time period which the thermostat uses to determine that the occupants are no longer in residence. i.e. if the switch has not been touch activated within the set time it will revert to the frost setting.
