NC 28216 (888) 522-8296 T (704)598-6673 F SAFE-STRIKE Auto-Darkening Welding Helmet With the creation and evolution of the Auto-Darkening Filter (ADF), the welding industry has seen one of the most innovative achievements in modern eye protection that reduces neck strain while improving both speed and accuracy while welding. With a shade-4 stand-by, the welder can position his work piece, keep combustibles away from weld zone and line up his first strike. With the strike of an arc, the ADF goes into action, darkens to the desired shade, remains dark during the welding process and returns to the stand-by shade once the arc is broken....hands-free! SAFE-STRIKE Automatic helmets are "Arc-Ready" for immediate use right out of the box. When taking your helmet out of the box, remove the protective film from the outer and inner cover lenses. If your unit is equipped with a test button, press it to be sure the ADF darkens. Adjust Shade, Sensitivity and delay settings as desired. Now, adjust the headgear ratchet and face angle tab for a comfortable fit. You are ready to Weld! For those requiring corrective lenses, the H700 & H800 have built-in magnifying lens holders. The SAFE-STRIKE ADF has dual internal lithium batteries that assist the ADF's change speed up to 1/10,000 sec. As you weld, the solar array on the front of the ADF will operate the ADF while trickle-charging the batteries to keep them at their full capacity. User Guidelines These helmets are designed for use in normal welding and grinding procedures and is sufficient to protect the user from U.V. light, heat from the weld zone, sparks and spatter generated while welding and fine grinder particles and sparks while grinding. If used for Air-arc gouging or grinding, Please be aware that other hazards may be introduced that the helmet is not designed to withstand, such as fragmenting grinding wheels or flying molten metal. Do not use for over-head welding where molten metal can fall on helmet. Take special care to wear proper protective wear and not to abuse this helmet. • Severe shock can damage the ADF. Do not throw or drop the helmet. • Inspect the inner and outer cover lenses prior to welding. Watch for cracked, broken, dirty or marred lenses that may allow spatter or other debris to contact the ADF or block light from the sensors on the front of the ADF. Replace such lenses. Do not attempt to clean lenses, ADF or any helmet part with solvent. • Consult chart for proper shade adjustment. If unsure of the proper setting, start at shade 13 and reduce to desired setting. • The ADF is not water-proof. Do not immerse in water or leave the helmet face-down in the rain. • Be certain nothing is blocking light from reaching the sensors or the ADF will not function. • The ADF is designed for use from 14 to 131° F (-10 to 55° C) • Do not disassemble the ADF unit. If a problem occurs, contact your distributor or Washington Alloy, Co. WARRANTY The 2 year manufacturer's warranty will commence on the date of purchase and covers all ADF and helmet components against functional failure when used in accordance with normal welding procedures. Failure or damage caused by abuse or misuse, whether intentional or not is the sole responsibility of the user. These helmets are designed for welding and grinding. Use for any other purpose may expose this helmet to hazards it is not designed to withstand and may not be deemed covered by this warranty.
