This manual provides safety instructions, description, operating instructions and technical specifications for the MX3 image magnifier (hereinafter referred to as “MX3”). Important Information Precautions and Safety Instructions The MX3 is a sophisticated precision optical device and must be handled carefully at all times to ensure reliable operation and prevent damages. Do not touch the optical surfaces, other than for cleaning purposes. Doing so may damage the optical coating or scratch the lenses. Clean optical surfaces with professional lens cleaning supplies, such as lens paper or provided lens cloth. Avoid unnecessary exposure to dust, moisture, and abrupt changes of temperature. The MX3 should not be operated at temperatures outside the specified operating range or stored at temperatures different than the specified storage temperatures. Keep the MX3 away from heat sources, such as heating appliances or central heating, and avoid unnecessary exposure to strong sunlight. Precautions and Safety Instructions Do not apply excess force or pressure to the lens assemblies, movable parts, and thread connections. The MX3 should be operated with the designated weapon platforms only. Consult with the manufacturer prior to mounting it on other platforms. System Introduction      The MX3 is a lightweight scope with x3 magnification designed to enhance the capability of your reflex sight. This magnifier can extend the effective shooting range of weapon sights such as MEPRO 21 and MEPRO MOR, without the need to re-zero the sights. The MX3 attaches on the weapon, behind the reflex sight by means of a quick release adapter. The MX3 can also be used as a hand held compact telescope for observing and exploring the battlefield area. The MX3 is available with in a fixed diopter or a variable diopter. Chapter 1. Mounting on Weapon Mounting on a Picatinny Rail     Verify that the adapter's lever is in an open (released) position (see the following figure). Mount the MX3 on the weapon adapter rail, behind the reflex sight. Tighten the adapter's lever. Make sure that the MX3 is firmly secured to the rail. Chapter 2. Mounting on Weapon 3 Figure 2: Mounting on a Picatinny Rail Mounting on a Tavor Adapter  4 Hold the MX3 perpendicular to the weapon, and slide it on the weapon's adapter (see the following figure). Chapter 2. Mounting on Weapon   Rotate the MX3 counterclockwise on the weapon adapter, until its bottom pin locks in place. Make sure that the MX3 is secured to the rail. Figure 3: Mounting on a Tavor Adapter Chapter 2. Mounting on Weapon 5 3. Using the MX3    Mount the MX3 behind a reflex sight. View through the MX3 eyepiece and locate the target. Verify that the sight's aiming dot is seen clearly. Operating an Adjustable Diopter  When available, rotate the adjustable diopter ring to obtain the sharpest view of the target. Figure 4: MX3 with Adjustable Diopter Chapter 3. Using the MX3 7 4. Care and Maintenance   Before installing the MX3 onto the weapon, verify that the lenses are clean. If necessary, clean the lenses with a fine lens brush and then with a clean dry cloth of soft cotton, rice paper or lens tissue. NOTE: Do not clean the lenses with a clothing fabric or other rough materials.  The MX3 can be washed with water to clean heavy dirt and mud. Chapter 4. Care and Maintenance 9 5. Warranty As a standard warranty policy, Meprolight warrants its products against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of the original purchase. Should your product prove to be defective during this period, please deliver it securely packaged in its original container or an equivalent, along with the proof of the original purchase date to your designated point-of-contact. Meprolight will repair (or, at its discretion, replace with the same or comparable model) the product or part thereof which, on inspection by Meprolight, is found to be defective in materials or workmanship. Warranty period and terms may differ from those described above and are subject to the terms and conditions of the specific sales contract. Chapter 6. Warranty 13 Important Information Meprolight is not responsible for warranty service should the product fail as a result of improper maintenance, misuse, abuse, improper installation, neglect, damage caused by disasters (such as fire, flooding, lightning), improper power supply, or service other than by Meprolight or a party appointed and authorized by Meprolight to service this product. 14 Chapter 6.
