The specially designed stiff polypropylene bristles of the Imperial POLYSWEEP brush resist these acids. Imperial POLYSWEEP chimney brushes, recommended for homeowners who use a brush occasionally, are especially suited for insulated metal chimneys, stainless steel or metal stove pipes where manufacturers recommend not scratching the flue. These sturdy durable poly brushes will help prevent damage to older or more fragile chimneys. All POLYSWEEP brushes have a 3/8” pipe thread fitting. Imperial SUPERSWEEP and SWEEP’S CHOICE chimney brushes feature hand made construction. Their spindles have a 3/4” loop on one end and a 3/8” pipe thread on the other for easy coupling with fiberglass rods and pull rings. Each set of bristles is individually placed on the spindle and then positively locked as the spindle is twisted into an evenly spaced double spiral configuration. This thread and spindle design is also used on all POLYSWEEP brushes. Imperial SUPERSWEEP and SWEEP’S CHOICE brushes come in a selection of round, square and rectangular shapes. The best way to clean your chimney is with the FLEXIBLE ROD METHOD (brush & flexible rods). The brush is inserted top down through the chimney or bottom up through the fireplace damper or cleanout door. Flexible rods are added as necessary. Imperial fiberglass chimney cleaning rods come with 3/8” male threads on one end and female threads on the other. These rods are very popular with the do-it-yourself homeowner because of their high degree of flexibility.
