If you are unable to view this email please review here IAS CYCLE CHALLENGE SPONSORED BY SEGRO IMPORTANT EVENT INFORMATION FOR THE IAS CYCLE CHALLENGE SPONSORED BY SEGRO Thursday 20th September, Rosslyn Park Thank you for registering to take part in the IAS Cycle Challenge, sponsored by SEGRO. Please find various details below to prepare you for the day, along with links to print this information and a map of the route. We look forward to seeing you there! START LOCATION Rosslyn Park FC, Priory Lane, Upper Richmond Road, London, SW15 5JH. Parking is available on site. Bacon sandwiches, tea and coffee will be available at the start. Please ensure you arrive in plenty of time before your allocated start*. On arrival at Rosslyn Park registration is located in the clubhouse. Please bring your cycle helmet to registration as we need to put a microchip on your helmet. This will trigger your start and finish time when you pass through the timing gates. These are being used purely for safety reasons so we are aware who is left out on the route towards the end of the ride. *Allocated start times are as follows; Gentle ability start time of 9.30am, Easy/medium ability start time of 10am, Medium ability start time of 10.30am, Fast ability start time of 11am, Very fast ability start time of 11.30am. FOOD STATION Some energy food and drink will be provided at Box Hill (50 miles) but please bring your own supplies as necessary. END OF RIDE & FINISH LINE 5.00pm at Rosslyn Park FC. Showers are available. Please re-register in the clubhouse. Any cyclists still on the route beyond 5.00pm will be collected by the Broom Wagon PARTY TIME & LOCATION Arrive at 6.30pm at The Ship, 41 Jews Row, Wandsworth SW18 1TB. RESPONSIBILITIES You are responsible for your own personal safety during the cycle ride, in addition to all personal belongings. Broom Wagons are provided. If you are in any way struggling, it is your responsibility to call the ‘broom wagon’ telephone number on the route map. Aside from the 50 mile stop, you will also be responsible for your own food and drink, and for ensuring you have warm clothing at the finish line. NAVIGATION Route markers (red boards with black arrows) will be put out by the organisers to identify the route. It is, however, likely that these markers will be tampered with somewhere on the route and you should not rely totally on all these arrow markers. Click here to view the route map You may wish to carry an independent means by which to navigate, as it is the responsibility of each rider to take the correct route. EMERGENCY & INSURANCE All riders should carry a form of identification showing their name, address and contact details of a person to be advised in the eventuality of an accident. All emergency numbers can be found on the route map. You are responsible for insuring your own bicycle, all other personal possessions and against personal accidents or injuries. TRIATHALON HANDLEBARS The use of triathlon handlebars is discouraged in such events. However, where riders do have them fitted they are not to be used when riding in a group. HIGHWAY Please observe the rules and regulations of the highway. Any rider not conforming, will be removed from the ride. KIT It is advised that each every rider carry, money, spare inner tubes, a fully charged mobile phone, a working pump, extra clothing to complete the ride taking into account the route and possible adverse weather conditions The wearing of a cycling helmet shall be compulsory for all riders. BIKE & BODY Participants are responsible for the roadworthiness of their own cycle and ensuring that their bodies are in good condition and fit for the ride. SUPPORT We will make every endeavour to support you during the ride. However in the event of mechanical failure or fatigue we are not responsible for getting you to the finish line. You must consider this as part of your planning. GROUPS It is intended that your group start and finish together.
