How to make toasted sandwiches 1、When using for the first time, wipe the surface of the plates with a damp cloth, and dry with cloth, tissue etc. Then smear the plates with butter, margarine or cooking fat. 2、Fit the plug into the wall socket. 3、Close the toaster and prepare the sandwiches while the appliance is heating. 4、When the toaster is ready, after about 5 min, the ready-to-cook pilot lamp will switch on (or the pilot lamp will be off if the toaster has only one pilot lamp). 5、Fully open the toaster. Place a slice of bread in the bottom half with the buttered side against the plate. 6、Fill the sandwich, pressing the bottom half into the plate. 7、Place the top slice with the buttered side up and carefully close the two parts of the toaster together. Do not force shut. Steam will be ejected from between the plates whilst doing this; make sure that your fingers do not come into contact with same. 8、Lock the two halves with the wire clip whilst toasting is taking place. NOTE-During toasting, the warning light will switch periodically on and off while the thermostat keeps the toaster at the right temperature. 9、Your sandwich will be toasted in 2-3 min or longer, to suit your taste Open the toaster and remove the sandwich using plastic or wooden spatula. Never use metal knife, as this may damage the non-stick coating. 10、Close the lid to preserve the heat, until you are ready to toast the next sandwich. 11、Prepare more sandwiches if required, whilst the one is toasted. 12、After use, remove the plug from the wall socket.
Hints for best results 1、Always preheat before use. Plug cord into power outlet while preparing the fillings. 2、For soft or liquid sandwich fillings, use medium sliced bread, while or brown. If the amount of the filling is small, use toast bread. 3、Flavored butter may also be used. 4、For added flavor, use bacon dripping. Brush the dripping on the outside of the bread. 5、Suggested garnitures for sandwiches: lettuce, parsley, mint, cress, stuffed olive halves, onion, tomato etc. 6、A teaspoon of sugar sprinkled on the outside makes toasted sandwiches crisper (especially with fruit fillings).
Cleaning ■ ■
After use and before cleaning, remove plug and wait for toaster to cool. Wipe the inside and the edges of the plates with kitchen roil, absorbent paper towel or soft cloth. ■ Should any filling be difficult to remove, pour a little cooking oil onto the plate and wipe off after 5 min, when the filling is softened. ■ Wipe the outside with only a slightly moistened cloth, ensuring that no moisture, oil or grease enters the cooking slots. ■ Do not clean the inside or outside of the toaster with any abrasive scouring pad or steel wool, as this will damage the finish. DO NOT IMMERSE IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID
