THE INDIOS RANGE CONSISTS OF: - recessed luminaires for interior installation, IP 20/43 (exposed part), with the exception of articles for PAR lamps, IP 20; - surface (IP40) and track mounted (IP20) projectors for interior and exterior installation (IP55, with the exception of articles for PAR lamps, IP20); Warning: with the lamp at the end of its working life (degeneration of the luminous flux) the lamp must be replaced in order to prevent serious damage to the control gear with possible effects on the installation itself. PREPARATION AND ASSEMBLY OF THE LUMINAIRES Turn the electricity off at the mains and follow the instructions given below. • RECESSED LUMINAIRES All the luminaires of the INDIOS range are suitable for direct mounting on normally inflammable surfaces . The round recessed luminaires, which are ready to be mounted, require drilling of holes with 188 mm diameter. To mount the luminaire on a false ceiling, follow the instructions provided in figure (fig.1). INSERT THE DOWNLIGHT INTO THE CEILING CUT-OUT LOWER BY HAND THE METAL PULL DOWN STRAP TO ANCHOR MOLLABLOK PUSH BACK THE FLEXIBLE METAL STRAP (fig.1). TO REMOVE THE DOWNLIGHT USE A SMALL SCREWDRIVER INSERTED INTO THE TRIM AND RELEASE THE MECHANICAL LOCK The square recessed luminaires are divided into base modules, additional modules and corner modules. These are also ready to be mounted and require drilling of holes in the false ceiling as shown in figure (fig.2). Additional module 200 Additional Additional module 195 module Corner Additional module module Additional module 200 200 200 195 200 (fig.2) - In particular, if mounting requires the use of stand-alone luminaires, the holes to be drilled must be 195x195 mm. To mount the luminaire on a false ceiling, follow the instructions provided in figure (fig.1). - If the mounting of two or more luminaires in a row is required, a base module and additional modules must be used. In this circumstance, the holes to be drilled for each additional module, correspond to multiples of 195x200 mm. To mount the luminaire on a false ceiling, follow the instructions provided in figure (fig.1). Warning: it is advisable to begin with the additional square modules and finish the installation with the complete square module. INDIOS 8 ENGLISH • TRACK MOUNTED LUMINAIRES Track mounted luminaires are suitable for mounting on three-phase electrified tracks by REGGIANI SPA ILLUMINAZIONE. Warning: These spotlights are not suitable for mounting on suspended tracks. To meet this kind of requirement, it is suggested to use surface luminaires and appropriate transformation KITs. Fixing of the luminaire to the track must be performed exclusively with the cam provided, as shown in figure (fig.3): insert the cam in the groove of the track; turn the cam 90°; tighten the safety screw, select connection phase. • INDOOR SURFACE LUMINAIRES All the luminaires of the INDIOS range are suitable for direct mounting on normally inflammable surfaces . • To attach the luminaire base to the mounting surface – with plugs with a max dia. of 6mm – follow the instructions provided in figure (fig.4): loosen the safety screw; with a screwdriver, unhook the locking tab; with a sharp tool, break open the holes prepared for the plugs. • For wiring to the mains (see General Notes -– external wiring), proceed as shown in figure (fig.5): use the prepared hole for the cable passage. Warning: for Class II luminaires, unsheathe the cable for about 50 mm and use the small sheaths provided (fig. 5), restore the stated Insulation Class. When the connection is completed close the cable with the cable gland. • Once the wiring is completed, assembly of the luminaire, follow the instructions in reverse , , (fig.4). • OUTDOOR SURFACE LUMINAIRES IP55 All the luminaires of the INDIOS range are suitable for direct mounting on normally inflammable surfaces . In particular, for this type of luminaires, the attachment of the base to the mounting surface is decisive for the subsequent adjustment of the spotlight. The refore, based on the required operating angle, vertical or horizontal mounting must be chosen as shown in figure (fig.6), where the dark angle corresponds to the dead zone uncovered by the optical compartment’s rotation. • For mounting the base, follow the instructions provided in figure (fig.7): loosen the safety; attach the base as described above using plugs with a 6 mm maximum diameter; clean and lubricate the entrance surface of the body and housing of the sealing gasket. Important: to guarantee the stated IP degree of protection, the accessories provided must be used. • For external wiring, follow the instructions given in the General Notes. In particular for Class II luminaires , unsheathe the cable and use the cable straps provided to maintain the stated Class. For the cable passage, use the prepared holes (fig.8). To guarantee the stated IP55 degree of protection, use the accessories provided in the order shown ; tighten the cable gland firmly to prevent the cable from moving. • The luminaire (fig.9), projector and base , are easy to assemble. Care should, however, be taken to avoid exerting any force on the optical compartment , but exclusively on the projector body. Finally, tighten the safety screw . NOTE: once the projector is mounted, before tightening the safety screw, the projector can still be adjusted through a few degrees along its vertical axis as shown in the figure (fig.10). INDIOS 9 ENGLISH • ACCESSORIES MOUNTING ON REGGIANI ELECTRIFIED TRACK Surface mounted projectors for interior installation can be turned into track-mounted luminaires by using the adapter KITS. In particular, KIT 9480 for the 3-circuit track and KIT 15300 for the 1-circuit track. Follow the instructions as per (fig.4) to mount the accessory: loosen the safety screw; use a screwdriver to unhook the locking tab; make the electrical wiring (see General Notes) as shown in figure (fig.5) and pass the cable through the hole drilled into the plate. The luminaire must be mounted on the track only using the cams supplied, as shown in figure (fig.11): insert the cam into its seat on the mounting plate and consequently into the track groove; turn the cam through 90°; tighten the safety screw; reassemble the luminaire following points , of (fig.4) in reverse. • IOS INTERCHANGEABLE REFLECTOR With the exception of the luminaires for halogen and PAR lamps, the products of the INDIOS range feature the IOS system (Interchangeable Optical System) that allows mounting reflectors with different beam width to the same luminaire. Follow the instructions as per (fig.12) to mount the accessory: disassemble the front lens cover; take out the reflector to be replaced; insert the new reflector making sure that it is held firmly in place by the retaining springs; reassemble the front lens cover. • DICHROIC AND SELECTIVE FILTERS The luminaires in the INDIOS range can be fitted with selective and/or dichroic filters. We must point out that if these accessories are used, light output is reduced according to the colour of the dichroic filter: - YELLOW DICHROIC FILTER reduction of 1-3% - RED DICHROIC FILTER reduction of 30-55% - GREEN DICHROIC FILTER reduction of 55-65% - BLUE DICHROIC FILTER reduction of 75-85% Follow the instructions as per (fig.13) to mount the accessory: disassemble the front lens cover; remove the gasket (if there is no gasket, remove the glass retaining spring); replace the filter; put all items back into position; correctly replace the gasket in its seat; follow points , in reverse order. • HONEYCOMB AND ANTI-GLARE LOUVRE The luminaires in the INDIOS range can be fitted with honeycomb or anti-glare louvres. WEEE Luminaires are defined as Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and as such may not be disposed of as solid urban waste. At the end of their life cycle, they must therefore be correctly treated and disposed of as substances of concern for both the environment and human health due to the presence of dangerous substances in the electrical and electronic components. The user must therefore consign used luminaires to the distributor when purchasing an equivalent new luminaire or, exclusively in the case of Italy, directly to Ecolight, the Consortium for the Disposal of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (Consorzio per lo Smaltimento degli Apparecchi di Illuminazione), delegated by Reggiani S.p.A. Illuminazione, who will collect the equipment free of charge and delivery it to the special collection facilities set up by the local authorities to recover, treat and dispose of WEEE. The illegal or inappropriate disposal of said waste is punishable by economic and/or administrative sanctions of the amount established by the law. N.B. The free collection of a luminaire may be refused if there is a risk of contamination for the personnel performing the service, if it is evident that the luminaire does not contain the essential components or if it contains waste other than WEEE, or if the weight of the luminaire collected is more than double the weight of the luminaire acquired. In these circumstances, disposal is the responsibility of the holder. INDIOS 11 ENGLISH Conformity Degree of protection. Direct mounting on normally inflammable surfaces. The luminaire must never, under any circumstan-ces, be covered with insulating material or the like. Minimum distance from the object to be illuminated. The safety shields must be replaced in case of damage. The luminaires must not be turned on without the safety shields. High voltage present during the lamp ignition phase. Take extreme care. For lamps with E27 lampholder, the wire supplying the pulse must be connected to the central pole of the lampholder. For cabling the independent control gear, use wires resistant to voltage surges of up to 5 kV only. The remote control gear must be placed a minimum of 300 mm from the luminaire and 50 mm from the side wall of the recessed housing. For connection to the mains and/or to the independent control gear, only use wires resistant to high temperatures type H05SS-F or equivalent. Luminaires in Class I. Luminaires which requiring earthing in order to ensure protection against electrical shocks. Luminaires in Class II. Use double insulated wires only or cover the wires with the sheath provided. For external wiring, use cables with characteristics no less than type H07 RN F and cross section of 1.5 mm2, with an external protective sheath of 8 mm max. diameter. Luminaires in Class III. Conformance with standards is ensured only when the luminaire is powered by a safety transformer in accordance with EN61558 –1 and EN61558-2-6, CE plus thermal overload relay. Self-ballasting lamps do not require safety shields. Use UV-Stop lamps only. Independent control gears for discharge lamps must have the following characteristics: In compliance with En 61347-1 and En 61347-2-9. 230/240V, 50Hz pulse 3.5-4.5kV Ta 55°C, Tw 130°C.
